Re: Default supports are flawed

It's a 15 meg file so can't upload it here but you can download it from my dropbox: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/20125992/dragon.factory I actually got this to print generate supports OK. I made two more mods that I think have solved the issue. One is to decrease the support distance from the...

Ooooooooozzzzzee

I have a role of PET+ I've been experimenting off and on with. Seems to work pretty well except one bit. The ooze is out of control. If I let it sit there with the nozzle hot you can see it oozing out at a pretty fast rate. I think the whole role would ooze out if I wasn't printing. Ok, so I've play...

Re: Default supports are flawed

I have tried all those things. The pic I took was with 1mm res (the smallest it will let you go), also had the extra distance increased and I've tried smaller infill settings. None of those settings placed any supports where they are obviously needed.

Re: Simplify just started bombing our when Slicing

I believe you have the same error lots of people have reported (including me before I saw it was reported already.) It has to do with having a random layer start position and the thickness of your walls. Try first choosing the optimal start position instead of random. I keep hoping for a S3D update...

Build progress way off

I don't know exactly where this bug lies. Maybe it's the fault of S3D or maybe some other issue, but it's consistent. Anyway, attached pic is of the build progress immediately after the heaters warm up and the print is actually starting. Here is my start gcode... T0 ; set primary extruder M103 ; ext...

Re: Default supports are flawed

I have a similar issue. I'm not exactly wanting to print a great big dragon but I downloaded the model so I could work out some support issues and learn the best way to place and calculate supports. I can't for the life of me seem to get S3D to put any supports under the backs of the wings. I've tri...

Re: Crash if random start position on layers

I found that rewriting the model with slightly thicker walls avoids the crash. Sure it'll be fixed in next rev.

Crash if random start position on layers

Not sure if this is reported already or not.

Simply try to slice the model with random start positions on the layers.
-> div by zero crash every time.

Attached factory file.

Re: raft separation/ model adhesion

Also under the support tab there is a box for "separation from part". The higher those numbers are the easier it is to separate. If you print with 0 separation layers for instance thats pretty much the same as if the supports are supposed to be part of the actual part. Could be handy for dissolvable...

Re: raft separation/ model adhesion

You can search the internet for abs juice. It's just disolving a bit of abs into some acetone. I don't think it works for PLA though.
