Re: raft separation/ model adhesion

Sounds to me like you need to stop worrying about brims and rafts and address your sticking problem instead. Here are a couple things I've learned as I began printing: - level bed at the right height from the nozzle so plastic is pushed correctly on to the bed (too high and it won't stick) - right t...

Re: Profile management

And then there is the whole deal with the factory files. It's great they save all your settings and all, I see the point. But suppose you tweak your setup gcode or your build height (like you installed a glass plate) Now you have to edit every single factory file to try to get all the profiles back ...

Re: Profile management

I guess in the mean time if you make a change you like and decide to make perminent you:

1) Export the profile.
2) delete the one you just left.

Seems at least there could be an overwrite button or something.

Profile management

Does anyone else find the profile management a bit annoying. I have a duel extruder and I have several types of plastics. So I'd like a profile for 1) left plastic 1 2) left plastic 2 3) right plastic 3 4) right plastic 4 etc. The issue is, if I create a profile, tweak it, then create a new project/...

Re: Best way to tune retraction settings

Here are a few results after experimenting a bit. retraction distance helps create a vacuum on the nozzle but doesn't get material out of the nozzle. enabling coasting helped to wipe the material off the end of the nozzle. On advanced tab I unchecked the option to only retract over open spaces and t...

Bug in temperature adjustments with hot bed

If I create a print that uses my left extruder it will work and use the left extruder. If I then add a temperature to the hot bed so that after layer 5 the hot bed temperature decreases, that will work as expected. However, at the same time the hot bed temperature adjusts, the print starts trying to...

Re: Calibrating Process/Profile for good prints

I will report a bug to the support if they don't answer here during next week. If I print tree boxes in the same print with each of it's own process settings, exactly the same except Extrusion multiplier. They come out the same. If I print on single box at a time with different Extrution multiplies...

Re: Dual Extruder prints

Perhaps someone can verify what I'm seeing. Simply try to print two 20x20 calibration cubes at the same time. In MakerWare it's simple. Just choose right extruder for one and left for the other and they print exactly the same time. In Simplify3d I can't get it to do that with different extruders, le...

Best way to tune retraction settings

I'm using the stock settings on retraction but I'm getting a little extra material between travel spaces sometimes.
Which settings on retraction would be best to help fix this?

Current:
retraction distance 1mm
extra restart distance 0
vertical lift 0
retraction speed 1200
no coasting or wipe.
