Crash when slicing model using sperate surfaces

I have a problem with the following model: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1471823/#files There are many intersecting parts. Seperate connected surfeces works but if I try to slice it S3D v4 crahses everytime. Any suggestions? EDIT: S3D 3.1.1 crashes too. No I fixed it with 3D Builder which came w...

Re: Print doesen't have an even surface

Stock flash forge finder seems not to have a heated bed. What is you build platform? Glass+Gluestick? Buildtak?

Re: Lithophane

I recently printed a lithophane using the online generator http://3dp.rocks/lithophane/ which has much more options. Then I printed with 100% infill in S3D @ 0.2mm Layer.
The result is stunning

Re: V4: How do I get the solid infill between processes back

You can still make a whole layer completely solid if you want. Instead of setting the infill to 100%, go to the Infill tab and tell it to "Include solid diaphragm every 1 layer". That will act the same was as your top/bottom solid layers. Ahm... no... this is not the same. And it is a huge step bac...

Re: V4: How do I get the solid infill between processes back

Okay this might be a workaround but not a final solution. First it is much more work and second the 100 % infill is handled different than the normal solid infill.
I can't understand why S3D has implemented this in that way...

V4: How do I get the solid infill between processes back?

I really like the easy variable settings wizard, and in most cases it is nice that the solid layers between processes are automatically disabled. But in some cases I want to have the solid layers between processes, because on some models I used this "unliked behavior" for my advantage. But since S3D...

Re: Unnatural support

The parts you've marked doesn't really need to be supported. The supports are not calculated throught the height. Basically the automatic supports are following an internal "grid". If the part doesn't "end" at the grid then they are not be placed. The grid resolution can be changed via "Support Pill...

Re: S3D V4 takes FOREVER to save my gcode file

I just did a short comparison between S3D v4 vs S3D v3.1.1 it is alomst the same (same Settings of cause) with this STL: https://www.myminifactory.com/object/death-trooper-32710 v4 v3.1.1 Slice 10s 10s Preview 18s 16s Save to SSD 61sek 68s Calc print time 59h25m 59h18m G-code Size 163 MB 134 MB So b...

Re: S3D V4 takes FOREVER to save my gcode file

For Perl a child's play... 30GB text file, both perl, awk and sed will have a field day with them :D it's simple code to write, not quick code to execute Ich have not spoken about 30GB text file... Well, Postprocessing is applied to the gcode, not to the STL. And G-Code basically only a text...
