Re: Flashforge Dreamer Firmware 2.4 Problems

The new 2.4 FlashForge Dreamer firmware changed the USB VID. The VID and PID are set to: VID=2B71 PID=0001 In 2.3 firmware these values were: VID=0315 PID=0001 This is most likely the problem. Simplify3D is probably looking for a USB device with PID 0315 and not finding it with the newer 2.4 firmwar...

Re: V3.0 - Striving for perfection

TO THE SIMPLIFY3D ENGINEERS I just want to say WOW! I just downloaded version 3.0 today and I am blown away by all the vast improvements you guys have made. I was getting a little worried not seeing any new releases for quite some time. But it was worth the wait. So many nice new features and fixes...

Re: How to make a tall raft

That's not currently possible unfortunately. You can't have different infill settings for different levels of the raft. There's only 1 setting for the entire raft, not including the base. The base's infill setting and layer count is not configurable.

Re: Auto vs Manual extrusion width

Extrusion Width - Auto: All it does it take your nozzle setting and multiply that by 1.2. Nothing magic here. For best print results, it is often recommended that your extrusion width be at least 1.2 times your nozzle width. This sets the width of the plastic printed for your model to be 0.48 mm fo...

Re: Painters tape peeling off bed during print

I never need to wash the PET build surface. Glass with hairspray needs washing. Not PET with nothing added to it. I never use glue unless the object has unusually strong curling forces, which is very rare of PLA printed on a 60 C build plate. If I use glue it's a tiny bit of Elmer's Purple Glue Stic...

Re: Painters tape peeling off bed during print

I know this may not be a realistic option for the OP but frankly if there is any way you can go with a glass heated build plate, do it and don't look back. For PLA you set the temp to 60 degrees C on the plate, and use Garnier Fructis #5 extreme hold hairspray on the glass (couple of light spray co...

Re: Better top surface stitching & bosses on top layers

I ran into this bug again yesterday. Several parts of my print broke off easily because of the bug  I know this bug is there and I know how to avoid it but I forgot to address the problem before completing the print job  More wasted plastic to recycle, and time lost printing a doomed part...

Re: Painters tape peeling off bed during print

Elmer's Purple Glue Stick works really well with PLA on a cold bed plate. That's good to know. I was originally very reluctant to try Elmer's Purple Glue Stick. The idea of coating the build plate with kids glue didn't sit well with me. One time at work I was printing on a MakerBot Replicator 2X, a...

Re: NinjaFlex w/ FF Creator Pro

The other possibility is that the filament diameter is wrong. The spool of filament you have might be defective and be far under 1.75 mm in diameter. If filament is considerably lower in diameter than the specs, you will need to increase your extrusion multiplier if the filament diameter setting in ...
