Re: Why won't Simplify3d 2.2.2 work on my Dreamer?

If you upgraded, and you didn't reset, sometimes things don't quite work right. I print all the time with the Dreamer using Simplify3D. Make sure your TOOL CHANGE G-CODE SCRIPT sets the tool. This wasn't need in some older versions of Simplify3D, but is now needed. For the Dreamer the TOOL CHANGE G-...

Re: FF Dreamer w/S3D and FlashPrint

On the MakerBot Replicator 2X (and Replicator 2 I believe) I can turn off acceleration. I don't think my FlashForge Dreamer supports turning off acceleration. When it's off, the Replicator 2X vibrates like crazy when printing at 90 mm/s. It's extremely loud, and the whole printer moves on it's own b...

Re: FF dreamer abs fan control

The fans on the back are there for safety reasons. They prevent the FlashForge Dreamer from overheating. You are lucky you have them. I purchased an older FlashForge Dreamer, the one with the foggy door which did not come with fans on the back. It overheated a few times, and melted the X-carriage, m...

Re: Better top surface stitching & bosses on top layers

Do you mean the Skeinforge setting makes a solid deck for the trapezoid to sit on? If that's what you mean, that's actually a decent thing in my opinion. Yes, that's exactly what Skeinforge does. I'm not sure why it chooses to do that based on these shapes, but that sure makes the print extra tough.

Re: Better top surface stitching & bosses on top layers

Cura, also doesn't have this bug at all. Yeah. I just checked it. Here's what I've tested so far. Cura doesn't have the bug. KISSlicer doesn't have the bug. FlashPrint's ffslicer engine doesn't have this bug. FlashPrint's Skeinforge engine doesn't show this bug. It gets around it by making a solid ...

Re: Better top surface stitching & bosses on top layers

This slicing bug needs to be fixed, for sure. Having to do little tricks to avoid the issue is inconvenient, and you need to know where and how to do them. For a novice, who doesn't know about these tricks, they are stuck with weak parts on some prints. this is truly a huge bug in S3D. that and it's...

[ADDED] Multiple Infills Per Layer

I'd like to see it possible to put 2 or more types of infill per layer. Not just 1, as it currently is. Currently, if I make a -45, +45 pattern of lines, this lays down a grid with -45 degree lines on the first layer, and then +45 degree lines on the next layer. The following layers repeat this alte...

Re: [Feature Request] Honeycomb infill

They definitely know about the request, but this one takes a long time to implement. I have talked with people about it when they attend maker faire and there is a LOT of coding involved. Not easy for sure. With a pattern, the infill logic is much more complex than with the straight lines currently...

Re: Better top surface stitching & bosses on top layers

I am using Simplify3D for nearly all of my 3D printing. I find that Simplify3D makes the best looking prints, and I love all of the settings it has. It's very feature rich. I like the work flow. I like the way Simplify3D works in general. I seldom go back to other slicers unless I absolutely need to...
