Re: Steps Per MM Adjustment Assistance Required

This is a useful feature to add. All of the printers that I've used so far are off to some degree on the X, Y, and Z axis. Each printer I used has an inaccuracy that's unique and consistent to it on each axis. Ranges of inaccuracies I've seen are from about 0.05-1.05%. That's a lot when the object y...

Re: Tip of the Day 17 -New Feature- Horizontal Size Compensa

This is a great new feature of version 2.2.2. It's very helpful when printing functional parts that interact with each other.

I wonder why slicers do not normally have this on the Z axis as well?

Re: Dual Extruder Skirting

I would be a little happier if the newer skirt and raft merging functions were optional. I don't like that this "improvement" was added, and the old behavior was simply removed from the software. I had a lot of tricks I developed that relied on the old behavior where each process could have it's own...

Re: Dual Extruder Skirting

Previously, it did not work correctly. Go use your previous version and try to create a dual color skirt for this part (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:124450). Like I said, it worked very well for certain models, but NOT all models. The models needed to occupy roughly the same area or it wouldn't...

Re: different filament color for different extruder in previ

I would like 3 G-code viewing options: Color By Speed (the currently mode), Color By Extruder , and Color By Process . I use the speed color scheme a lot to ensure my print will work well before printing. This is very useful as is, and one reason why I purchased Simplify3D. There are times when I re...

Re: Dual Extruder Skirting

This feature was TAKEN OUT in version 2.2.0. This is the "improvement" that took out this feature (see http://www.simplify3d.com/software/changelog/): "Improved interaction of rafts, skirts, and support structures for multi-process builds" That "improvement" made it no longer possible to make 2 dif...

Re: Dual Extruder Skirting

This used to be possible in older versions. I used to create 2 processes: right and left. For example, right might be black and left might be white. Each process had it's own skirt positioned slightly differently so that they did not touch each other. This worked very well for a dual color print com...

Re: Start of print not extruding for several cm

Great and inventive. Stepping up a gear. Could something be done if using PVA as support and ABS as part material? You unfortunately can't print most ABS on most PVA. I say "most" because I've run into several variants of ABS throughout my printing experience and I haven't tried them all. I've had ...

Re: Multiple Process Scripts

I have run into a seam appearing when I accidentally set the "Start Printing At" and "Stop Printing At" settings to overlap by 1 layer, causing the first process to stop, and then the next process to start on the same layer. This caused a very noticeable seam. Make sure these values aren't overlappi...

Re: Feature Request: Better support generation

Hi Frankz, I like this bridge/tree style support concept. This is quite interesting. I haven't seen this type of support used in any slicer. This would greatly reduce infill needs, especially for large spaces. This is perfect when you need a good top outer layer support, so it prints without sagging...
