Re: Multiple Prime Towers

I don't understand how priming both extruders would help? The unused or sparsely used hotend would still burn the filament if that's causing your restart issues. If designing the dual extruded object, use the unused hotend to make up the infill to keep the filament flowing. Sorry if I don't understa...

Re: Feature for Selective Changing Suppport direction X to Y

Hmm.... interesting. If the supports are too sticking too well, try increasing the separation parameters. A .3 horizontal separation works well for me. For the upper/lower separation, specify a the number of layers to achieve ~.3. For a fine layer height of .1, try 2 layers (since 3 layers may sag)....

Re: Tip of the Day 19 - Additions Tab, a technical analysis

What about prime pillar and Ooze Shield? Thank you. Both prime pillar and ooze shield print after the tool change to ensure the hotend is ready to print the true object. I've found that one or the other is enough to prime the hotend on my dual extruder machine. The ooze shield is my first choice, u...

Re: Support material is too sticking on object printed

Have you tried adjusting separation parameters listed at the bottom of the "Supports" tab? A setting of .3mm seems to work well for me... I normally print using a layer height of .3 so that means a upper and lower separation of 1 layer. For curved surfaces, the horizontal separation is key.

Re: Lulzbot Taz5 FlexyDually V2 profile

Printing from just the front extruder is possible, but requires a dual extruder profile. Use the configuration editor to add the TAZ 5 with Dual Extruder. The newly created printer profile will have an option to print with "Both", "Front Only" or "Back Only" extruder next to the Material and Quality...

Re: Better cooling settings for petg

Interesting dilemma... there are a lot of settings on the cooling tab. Have you tried the "Bridging fan speed override"? There's also bridging controls in the "Others" tab. A combination of these settings can help control the cooling for the single (first top layer). The cooling should return to the...

Re: Tip of the Day Compilation: FFF Settings Window

One of the S3D videos list the parameter which the "Material" and Quality" profiles store. Here's their video . I use the "Material" profile to store paramters in the: Extruder, Temperature and Cooling tabs. Sample from a dual extruder Material autoconfigure profile: <autoConfigureMaterial name="ABS...

Re: Line in the start outer perimeter (not a blob)

So there is overextrusion at the beginning of the outermost perimeter. Check that "Outside-In" on the Layer tab is set. So after a layer change, the infill perimeter should print before the visible outline layer... any anomalies with the stop/start of extrusion after layer change should be hidden fr...

Re: Help with printing settings. PLEASE

I'm guessing the pegs are pretty thin with a small surface... which is not cooling enough or setting before the nozzle returns to print the next layer. Try a little more fan (ie 5-10%) or reduce the extrusion temp by a 2-5C. Alternatively, try the different options in the "Cooling" tab. I usually ha...

Re: Line in the start outer perimeter (not a blob)

The line seems to the outer area of patchiness... Do you have wipe or coast set? How about retract settings... specifically "extra restart distance". Post the factory file and gcode. It would be interesting to see how the travel relates to the beginning or end of patchiness.
