Re: Anyone using Simplify3D with the Luluzbot Mini?

Wow... bitter... you should get a refund. If interested in troubleshooting... Are you preheating the machine or starting a print from cold? If the latter, the pause is probably due to the g-code inserted by S3D to wait for the nozzle to become stable at the set extrusion temp... which looks to be 20...

Re: taz 4 help/suggestions

Just wanted to report back on that profile I posted. The speed is increased a bit and works out well for parts that don't require a lot of detail. If you're printing a toy or display piece, lower the speed back to the original 3600mm/s. The alternative which seems to work well is to adjust the "Outl...

Re: Nozzle Dragging?

The nozzle dragging over the print could be the result of too much filament being deposited. Hence the nozzle is running through the build up... usually around the edges in a rectilinear filled solid section. Too much filament being deposited could be varying filament diameters... usually larger tha...

Re: Compensate for high builds

Now as you say I should try increasing temprature and extrusion flow. I could use a hint here how much to increase the multiplier. By using a spcified startpoint I probably get as close to the most cooled down area for the next layer. You can increase the flow of filament through the extrusion mult...

Re: Filament Storage

Hmm... that's actually a pretty nice setup... seems to be straight from the Taulman3D recommendation: http://www.taulman3d.com/specifications.html You could easily substitute with a shallow plastic box... I use the 5gallon paint buckets (with lid) found at the hardware store with some silica packets...

Re: Create supports for tall parts without overhangs?

No way to do that in S3D... at least that I know of. You may need to manually add a thin top to the print. Maybe import the object into meshmixer or Sketchup. That way you can "create" the overhang which S3D identifes as needing support... or add manual support away from the object to keep the faces...

Re: Compensate for high builds

He might be saying the print is delaminating from itself... rather than curling/warping from the bed. If that's the case, try increasing extrusion temp so that the new filament bonds better with the previous layer. And/or reduce cooling. If that doesn't work, increase extrusion flow... but this may ...

Re: taz 4 help/suggestions

Yep. Absolutely agree. A higher ambient temp created by the enclosure would be a great addition!

Re: taz 4 help/suggestions

The cooling, various temps and varying z-offset are all placeholders to mitigate warping and improve removal of the ABS part from the PEI. The root of this issue is that I'm impatient... and can't wait for parts to completely cool. :) I use these templates pretty often as-is, but they are a good sta...
