Re: extruder recommendation?

You don't want to direct cold air into a hot chamber. This defeats the purpose of heating a chamber, for ABS anyway. PLA maybe, but warm air is better.

Re: Extrusion multiplier issues

Pics always help.

Don't read into extrusion multiplier any, just use what prints right.

The gaps are probably the variable extrusion width settings that need to be tuned.

Re: Profile Management Questions

I stopped dealing with profiles a long time ago. I just save factory files now and I name them with what type of filament I used in that factory file. When I have a similar object to print I look through my factory files for the closest match, open, save as and import new STLs. I store all my factor...

Re: Flame retardant filament

used firewire FR-ABS flame retardant ABS (UL94 V-0) and except for ~5-10C higher extruder temp compared to esun white or colored non black abs (~5C higher temp then esun black) all other settings I used were same and the prints came out great. too bad it's hard to get it here (usa->eu shipment is e...

Re: extruder recommendation?

Like I said, proof is in the final part, quality and strength. I think you will find that a big mill doesn't like to move at the speeds that a 3d printer requires. Sure it can move fast, "Hobby" 3d printers can also, but there is a reason they typically move slower. Plastic takes time to cool, and t...

Re: inconsistent flex extrusion isue

Yes, flex filament can be like trying to put a limp noodle into a hot hole. You have to fully support the noodle to keep it going straight.

Re: extruder recommendation?

Thanks for the "reality check" on the nozzle/height, but I just threw out a few numbers trying to get the point across that I'm not interested in a hand-sized part taking several hours to print, the way most hobby-speed extruders do. This is not my first rodeo, and I'm not using a router; my mill c...
