Re: speed down at the corner

The inner walls can be printed faster because they aren't seen. Any speed related ringing artifacts can be mostly hidden by running the outer wall at half speed. It seems a bit odd to need different acceleration or jerk settings when printing either the inner or outer perimeters. I usually set the m...

Re: Flashforge Guider 2

You should be able to make your own profile. Start with a FF Dreamer profile and adjust build volume. Then adjust start script for purge/wipe location.

Probably a few other things to adjust, but tackle them as they come.

Re: 50mm Testcube is too small

I printed a 50mm Testcube and it ist only 47x47mm. the height was correct. How can i fix it? I changed from Makerbot software to Simplify3d. The 3D-printer ist a CTC (Chinese Replicator 2X Clone). It is not a Replicator 2x clone, it is a Replicator 1 Dual clone. The pulley sizes are different on th...

Re: Auto vs Manual extrusion width

Then you are SOL... Find some wire gauges at .4, .41, .42, etc. and measure.

Re: bridging not triggering

Really need more info on settings and a full view of the model. Could the bridge layer be in the realm of the number of "roof" layers? What is the "area" setting for bridging? set to a low low number, like 5mm squared or something. Oh and perimeters never "bridge" yet I think they should. Maybe a bu...

Re: schedule for fixing problems

I pretty much consider any app that isn't updated regularly like monthly, every 6 months or even 12 months as abandonware. S3D fits this description. It seems like every month they say coming soon. Then 2 months later, updates coming soon. Just stringing things along. Kind of pathetic actually.

Re: Max upper vertical separation I can used

What is the max upper vertical separation you have successfully used with supports and dense supports? I have my support pretty well dialed in but the upper part is still sticking pretty good to the part. I am using 1 vertical separation layer. Is 2 ok to use or is it going to cause problems? It de...

Re: Factory file vs process exporting?

You totally miss the point. S3D is one of the pay for slicers, one would assume it is designed for a production environment. In a production environment you need control over processes to be repeatable. People are careless, that is one of the reasons computers are so great, they don't forget. Imagi...

Re: Auto vs Manual extrusion width

Nope, no test for that except to use wire gauges in a clean nozzle. Plastic when extruded swells a bit. Measure your filament coming out of the nozzle sometime, a .4 nozzle will extrude about .5 to .55mm in free air. When you extrude to a substrate that .55 gets smashed to .6 or more wide. Different...

Re: Factory file vs process exporting?

So the simple way to sync two machines is to store a factory file from one and load it to the second machine? It's a shame there is not a more transparent/background way to do this but I can live with this way. Something like a external shared file with process settings but I guess that is not all ...
