Re: Calibration Cube Corners Rounded - Used To Be Sharp!

Looks like my plastic cooling fan died. That might explain this and many other problems that started a day ago :)

Calibration Cube Corners Rounded - Used To Be Sharp!

I'm noticing that recent prints of my calibration cube for filament multiplier have become somewhat chamfered or rounded at the corners. These edges used to be very sharp on the same printer using the same filament, and I'm wondering if this could be a sign of slop in my belts or elsewhere.

How To Reduce Warping of PLA?

I often have issues with PLA overhangs and support edges curling up or warping during a print (not necessarily during the first layer) and have been doing some research on how to minimize this. Half the tips I read say to insulate the build chamber and prevent cooling too fast, the other half say to...

Re: What causes these kind of print errors?

Could feed resistance from the spool account for the pattern here? It always starts later on in a multi-hour print and is focused where each perimeter begins.

Spike in Perimeter During Slicing

I'm getting a weird error where the middle outline of 3 outer shell perimeters has a small spike that penetrates outside the outer shell. I've included a screengrab showing the build preview at that specific layer to be able to see what is going on. Any ideas what the cause for this is and how to fi...

Re: X/Y Axis Movement Speed Questions

Possibly, but any slower than 18mm/sec (which is what my outlines are printing at now) to 30mm/sec (for infill) I'm looking at 2 days for a single print! That is why I'm asking if slowing down the NON PRINTING travel moves might be a good idea. They default to 120mm/sec.

What causes these kind of print errors?

This one is for all you forensic 3d print investigators out there. This photo shows an example of artifacts I often get on the back of my models on otherwise good prints. These horizontal gaps seem to correspond to where each perimeter begins since I have my start point fixed on the back of the mode...

Re: Full Grid vs Rectilinear Infill?

Wonder why there are two different options then. Seems redundant unless there are other things that set them apart.

Re: X/Y Axis Movement Speed Questions

I just checked the preview on one of my prints. I see no jaggie infill patterns like in your example at all since my models are fairly large and round shapes (human busts)

Re: X/Y Axis Movement Speed Questions

Great bit of info. Thanks for the tip. I am still wondering about the possible advantages and disadvantages of using a lower travel move speed. Like I said I usually print between 15-30mm/sec and my X/Y movement defaults to 120mm/sec. I'm curious if it is recommended to lower it when the printing sp...
