Re: Printing hollow with a clean inside?

Your post made me curious so… I loaded a simple solid block (in this case, it has a Hex shape). I set: Infill = 0 Bottom Layer = 0 Top Layer = 2 Shells = 2 Height (z) = 0.3 Bingo! Screenshot attached… View from the bottom shows it hollow with no bottom surface/layer. I can’t comment on your part/sha...

Re: Script for extruding filament at set temperature

Generally, you’ll use M-codes. Different printers can use custom M-codes so, understand what your machine prefers but, most likely you’ll use the following in your custom start script (in Simplify’s process, script panel. They worked on my older DiVinci): Research to learn what commands and paramete...

Re: Nozzle hitting clips on start of print

Then, edit/change the code - Gcode is simply a text file and there is no particular order of what comes first, second third... X Y Z or Y X Z or Z X Y.... get it? You can tell it to do what you want it to do. And, 'Yes' you can combine several G command on one line... Hence, my very first post: It's...

Re: Nozzle hitting clips on start of print

Mixing Apples and Oranges... First: If you like the Start script from Cura, simply copy it and paste it into Simplify's Script panel (in the Start script panel/tab) Second: Those scripts are not the same and that, begs the question: where did the start script for Simplify come from ? Is it the start...

Re: Nozzle hitting clips on start of print

If you have clips on your bed, as shown, then you don't have 'every-bit' of bed area to print on. You lose about 1/4 inch on the front (and probably rear if clips are there). Might as well tell the printer to not use those small print areas by setting up a new bed size and an offset... Beyond sugges...

Re: Nozzle hitting clips on start of print

I'm still a bit unclear on just what & when you want to raise the nozzle. But, regardless of my lack of clarity, if wanting to raise it, look at the code snippet I posted: This line raises it... G1 Z10.0 F1000; That raises the nozzle 10.0mm (at a speed of 1000mm.min. You don't need to include the sp...

Re: Nozzle hitting clips on start of print

I recently designed parts for a V6 hot-end on my prusa printers. That put the home position off of the bed. I use binder clips for the glass and needed to keep nozzle away from them. The attached image of my start script may help you regarding Gcode. But, it’s up to you to know the axis pos/neg dire...

Re: Best Glue for PETG & PLA

I did some stress/strain testing some time ago and compared the results with a Youtube on glues for PLA/etc. I'm sure the video is still posted... My results were similar to the those in the video. Screenshot (of video results) shows Loctite Gel Control to be stronger than others... I used it on my ...

Re: Different layer heights for outer layers only

Another approach - the one I use... But, it requires making your part into two separate parts: One for the inner section and one for the outer section. One way to do that (if you're not CAD skilled) is to cut a hole inside (leaving only the outer section). Then, cut the outer section, leaving only t...
