From what I understand the limiting factor of speed isn't how quickly plastic can be pushed through the nozzle it's how quickly the nozzle can be moved by the steppers without causing problems due to inertia.

I find it much easier to break a model up into multiple pieces that don't require supports and glue them together afterwards than to try to clean up a massive amount of support material. I thought about doing that as well, but was not wanting to invest a lot of time in manually splitting the model ...

I bought three 2GB SD cards....non-descript or non-branded... BAD idea, the market is flooded with junk SD cards. Heck I don't even trust branded names unless they come from a reputable dealer as counterfeits are more common than the real thing. Always buy a major brand from a major dealer and you'...

It's not a specific feature of simplify 3d, but most dual extruder printers have a "ditto" option in the firmware, this will make it print two identical objects at the same time--they just can't be wider then the distance between the extruders. supports are generated on a grid, and with thin objects the angle it lays across that grid affects the support distribution. A smaller support resolution will help.

The easiest method is to press ctrl-L and chose a face on the model that you want to be flat on the build platform.
