Re: Is it easier to remove ABS part from cold or hot bed?

Definitely cold, sometimes when I have a part that's really stuck on my glass bed I remove it and put it in the freezer for a 15 minutes, then it just pops right off.

Re: Great quality but getting delamination

Hey everyone, So I have been printing the same object for the last week trying to get the design down and I recently bumped my temperature down to 210 for Black PLA which gave me an amazing first layer compared to when I printed with 220. I dont have adhesion issues printing at 220 but the quality ...

brim feature not split between processes

Often when printing multiple objects I want some to have a brim because they need some extra bed adhesion, yet other parts in the same print don't require a brim--including one would just add to cleanup. S3D "should" be able to do this via it's multiple process feature, but it doesn't--the brim sett...

Re: Multiple Processes = multiple floors\roofs

Can't you just set the top/bottom layers to 0 on individual processes to avoid this?

Re: Overhangs not being supported

You are just using too large of a pillar resolution. It will support that ear just fine if you use a smaller size. You can't expect it to pick up a thin ear like that with such a large pillar resolution . If you need help, post the STL and I'll be happy to help ;) Sure you can, evident by other sli...

Re: Overhangs not being supported

Simplify will not create supports for overhangs that are smaller than it's support pillar resolution. It's one thing where it's slicer is worse than it's competition. A work around is to import a little platform larger than the support pillar resolution and place it where you need it, that way the s...

Re: Top layer not filling honeycomb pattern

Looks to me that the model probably has some errors and cura is dealing with them better/differently.

Do you have the "heal" areas option selected in simplify?

Re: Cutoff

A few different ways: 1) turn it upside down and lower the section you don't want to print below the build plate 2) set it to stop printing at a certain height in the process setup 3) use 3d software to break the model up (meshmixer can do this). 3 is the best solution as it will give you a filled i...

Re: Help with ABS curling when printed on support

I use a MakerGear M2, not a Bot... But some things are still relative here. Can you further describe "curling"? You can upload a photo to somewhere like Imgur.com and post the direct link. I feel like you are trying to describe "drooping" across the bridge. But then again maybe not. Makerbot uses a...

Help with ABS curling when printed on support

Does anybody have any tips on how to keep abs from curling off of support? My abs stick just fine to my printer bed but the areas that are printed on Simplify3D's support curls off. I tried setting the support gaps to 0 and that didn't help. My next test will be to turn up the support density really...
