Re: Release cycle of S3D

I'm not bashing S3D here, and I do not for one second regret spending the money on it. It's just that even if it is very good, there are a lot of things for them to improve, some of them so simple that it can probably be done by a developer in 15 minutes. A recent example is the request (by someone ...

Release cycle of S3D

For the long-time users out there, how often does S3D release a new version? The current version was released in early September (I think), so it is getting a few months old, and there are lots of improvements and features for them to work on (ref all the excellent suggestions on this forum). Many s...

Re: Timeline

That's not really very useful, given that the time estimates are so wildly inaccurate. The main reason for that, is that S3D can't properly estimate the real speed of the printer. That depends on the firmware and the firmware settings, which are unknowns to S3D.

Re: Bridge detection logic flaw

You are correct that there is no support underneath the bridge, hence it needs to bridge... :-) However, there are two long walls (as the pictures shows), and bridging between these will work nicely, provided the bridging happens in the short direction. Lengthwise bridging is clearly illogical here....

Bridge detection logic flaw

First, let me just say that I am aware of this thread on the same subject: https://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2518 However, that thread is locked, so I can't post to it. This issue is still there, look at this: bridge1.png Simplify3D chooses the worst possible bridging direction. Then...

Re: Filament feed rate limit instead of nozzle speed limit

I second this. The max volumetric flow of an extruder is more or less a constant, and having such a setting as a hard limit that cannot be exceeded will simplify things a lot, and skipped steps will be more or less a thing of the past. To get really fancy, it could also be two settings, one for sust...

Re: Multi Resolution

Yes, you can use multiple processes in a single print, and assign them to specific layer ranges.

Re: Check temp before begin build

I guess if you put M116 (before G28) in the starting script, and also uncheck the "Wait for temperature..." for both bed and extruder under the temperature tab, you should get what you want.
