Re: Broken - Perform retraction during wipe movment

I agree, it is a bug in 3.0.2. What solved it for me was changing the "Tool change retraction distance" to 0.00 on the Advanced tab. I first tried selecting the "Relative extrusion distances" option but that didn't help (apparently that doesn't work for all printers, despite some insisting it is the...

Re: Another newbie. Learning from Cura to Simplify3D - help

Look the main thing I am having trouble with is figuring out, what settings in Cura and the same in Simplify due to the different terminology used. Can someone please point me in the right direction by telling me, what is the relevant Simplify setting, to the below Cura setting: I'll take a crack a...

Re: Seeing your machine's bedplate in Simplify

In addition to having the machine model loaded under Printer Models on the Machine tab, also make sure you have the "Include build table in virtual environment" option checked on the Visualization tab.

Re: What does print quality setting change?

Go to "File, Export FFF Profile" and export your profile. Then open it with a text editor, and search for the "AutoConfigureQuality name=" sections. These sections will show you which parameters and values are set when you choose that particular Quality option. At least with the current version of S...

Re: IR Z probe

I don't see anything obvious wrong with configuration.h. Are you sure you got a clean compile and upload? Go to the Communications window and use the "Emergency Stop" function. Marlin should echo out the build date/time when it boots. Does that match your compile date/time? Maybe someone else here w...

Re: IR Z probe

Sounds like the firmware isn't responding to G29. Most likely a problem in configuration.h define statements. Not a Simplify3d issue, so you may have a better chance of getting help on a forum dedicated to your printer type or firmware. But if you want to post your printer details and a copy of conf...

Re: IR Z probe

Click the Gear icon at bottom right of the main S3D screen to get the Machine Control Panel. There is a Communications tab there.

Re: IR Z probe

Open the Machine Control Panel, go to the Communication tab, enter the G28 in the field at the bottom and click the SEND button. Then after homing completes, enter the G29 and click the SEND button. If G29 works OK from there... Then problem is something with formatting/sequence in the script. If G2...

Re: IR Z probe

What happens if you manually send G28 and G29 from the commands screen (rather than from the script)?

Re: IR Z probe

Did you do a G28 just before the G29? Some versions of Marlin need that. There are also some defines in configuration.h that have to be set before compile to enable G29, but assuming that's all correct try G28 immediately before the G29.
