Re: Simplify3D 3.0.2 crashes when launching

I had one machine where S3D consistently crashed. The crash report implicated the video driver, but it happened with every version of the driver available. S3D has a "Use legacy graphics mode" setting under Tools, Options, Visualization which by default is "off". Turning this "on" eliminated the cra...

Re: Automatic Bed Leveling for Lulzbot Mini

The default Lulzbot Mini profile from S3D has included the cleaning/probing code in the startup script for some time. So if you go to "Help, Configuration Assistant" and pick the Lulzbot Mini, you'll get a profile that already includes the cleaning/probing script commands. That script is "generic", ...

Re: Pause at height?

@SimpleScott Unfortunately, there is nothing in that thread about wildcard searching. As I wrote, the issue is that the REPLACE command seems to need the full source text to replace, so you can't just use the layer number in the command. The given example in that thread shouldn't really work either...

Re: Retracts too long with 3.0.2?

What solved this problem for me was changing the "Tool change retraction distance" to 0.00 on the Advanced tab. I first tried selecting the "Relative extrusion distances" option, but that didn't help. I could be wrong, but It appears to me the value in "Tool change retraction distance" is getting ad...

Re: Pause at height?

@mroek - Take a look at the first couple of posts in the following thread and see if the Search/Replace syntax there helps.

Re: Setting in Wrong

For sticking to the bed... I think CompoundCarl was probably trying to refer you to the Z-offset value rather than speed. Look again at the link he provided, the second item titled "Nozzle starts too far away from the bed". Your print also looks to me like you might be over-extruding, and/or running...

Re: post processing script

Do any of those printers use the "postProcessing" comment that S3D inserts? Why would that ever need to be changed by a REPLACE command?

Re: post processing script

Interesting. Can you give an example? I didn't know any of the firmwares acted on comment lines in gcode. I may have capabilities I don't know about!

Re: post processing script

FYI - several of the profiles that I use from S3D use the {REPLACE} commands to manipulate the header with info that is needed by those machines. So it definitely needs to work on the header as well ;) My thought was only to exclude the comment lines inserted by S3D from REPLACE. Would that restric...

Re: post processing script

Thanks, CC. Yes, using using {strip] to remove the comment was the first thing my simple brain thought to try. But doing that removes useful documentation from the file. I like that S3D adds that comment; it is good documentation of how the file was prepared, and I want it there for future reference...
