Re: CubePro Quality for small parts

On the Cooling tab there are two options you should look at.
One is the speed overrides which will slow down printing on small print areas.
The other is the fan overrides which will speed up the fan on small print areas.
Both of those would help the overheating issues you're seeing.

Re: Pause printing until temp setpoint is reached

maybe it makes more sense to bump the fan speed for the first layer when I want to cut the adhesion - no response time/inertia issue with that option.

Re: How to improve supported layer quality?

Look at the dense support options in Simplify3D. That will create a raft-like surface at the top of the supports. They have a video about it on their YouTube page too OK, I think my main issue was a lack of understanding about the difference between support infill percentage and pillar resolution (...

3D printing newb here so I might be all wet. That said, I'm dropping the extruder temp a little for the first layer to build on the raft to make the raft a little easier to remove. Then I raise the temp back up for the next layer. On a small build the first layer may complete before the nozzle temp ...

Re: brim outside of printable space - really?

+1 - bounds checking on additions would be good for sure. I've also had to watch the edges of the plate on the previews.

New here, but was looking for info on this same issue. I have access to an UP Mini at the office. The little guy has a lot of limitations, but it does support right! Up builds a raft on top of the support webbing so the build on top of the support looks just as clean as the first layer on a raft fro...
