Any time i bring an object it the mesh changes (decimation) so detail is lost and its now slightly different.

What program are you using?

Thank you I know how to use that method but as you noted it would alter the model so that it would not be the same model once I exported it again so it might not line up or match once I glued to the original model

I already did that I use it all the time but I need to do that for X&Y movement not just Z when I sync it through the bed I have five Islands the five bits that stick up I need to print just two of them I tried moving the other parts off the side out of the printer volume area but it still generates...

you can do it yourself pretty easily. import 2 cylinders spaced apart. run the preview. you will see that it retracts when it moves from one cylinder to the other cylinder. NOW create a duplicate process and make each process one cylinder so each is in their own process now it will not retract when ...
