Replace Print Head in Preview?

Is there a way to replace the print head model that's used in the 3D preview?

I'd like to replace it with an STL of my actual print head, so I can watch for collisions and other potential problems when performing sequential printing.

Re: Slicer behavior for thin walled sections

+1

There really needs to be an option to have thin walls printed as a single filament width regardless of actual wall thickness. Maybe a sub-option to center the single line on the wall, the inside of the wall, or the outside of the wall.

Re: merge internal and external infill when they are the sam

This would be a great improvement and would help speed up prints. It would be useful to extend this idea to small bridges - rather than print a bridge just continue to print the solid infill if the bridge is under a certain size. This would create much cleaner bridges in some cases and save the time...

Re: an infill pattern for walls

The concentric infill pattern works well on the cap layers with thin features. It would be nice if you could use mixed infill - thin features could be filled with concentric infill pattern and thick features could be filled with one of the other standard infill patterns. I agree a polar coordinates ...

Re: Auto Model Orientation for best print

This article http://hpcg.purdue.edu/bbenes/papers/Vanek14SGP.pdf discusses a method of minimizing required support structure. They rotate the model to minimize the number the number of over hangs. I can't recall if it's in this article or another one I read, but just rotating the part to minimize it...

Re: Print infills before perimeters

I'm pretty sure Slic3r also has this feature. It would be great if S3D as well.

Re: Feature Request: Non-planar layers

I agree this would be a great feature to add. Allow users to specify frequency and amplitude of the 3D wave form. The wave form amplitude could start at zero to ensure good first layer adhesion and then slowly increase to its max amplitude as the model is built. The amplitude could then decrease to ...

Re: [Feature request] 3d infil patterns

This would be a great feature for Simplify to include.

Slic3r does something similar with their 3D honey comb.

Re: Features desperately needed in Simplify plus some others

+1 I agree the air printing issues definitely need more attention. In nerys' example of a small box being printed on top of a large box, another possible solution would be to project the perimeter of the smaller box down to the next lower solid layer and build a foundation below the small box. This ...

Re: Process Order Editing

Process order editing would be an incredible upgrade. I like to do sequential printing, and if I make any changes to the placement of the parts on the build plate I have to complete redo the processes from scratch. A set of up and down arrows next to the process window to re-order processes like lay...
