Re: Outer shell no adhesion and final layer gaps

Yup, looks like under-extrusion to me too. Increase your extrusion multiplier a bit more and try again Is this where it becomes a bit of a trade off? Walls a bit thicker for good adhesion? I did ramp the extrusion multiplier back up (.88-.9) and the outer shell got better but the final solid layer ...

Re: Internal structure is affecting my perimeter quality! Ha

Well I think I've fixed it about as well as it can be fixed. Fixing the cad so the internal walls didn't overlap with the perimeter helped quite a bit (I'm looking at you S3D for this one) and I've increased the travel speed up to 150mm/sec and increased retraction distance too to keep it clean. Ho...

Re: Managing multiple printer settings

Profiles can be organized in the software. You do not need to use Import/Export FFF profile unless you're sharing the profile with another person. Inside the software, in the edit process settings window there is a drop down list where you can switch between your various printers' profiles. Their b...

Managing multiple printer settings

I am having difficulty managing printer settings for multiple printers. I am wondering if there's an alternative to using the Import/Export FFF profile functions to toggle between the different printers. Namely, each of the printers I use have different toolhead offsets, materials loaded in them, be...

Re: Alternative to M218

Probably because you haven't entered your toolhead offsets correctly (see the options straight to the right of that checkbox in your picture) Thank you for your reply. Toolhead T0 offset shouldn't be 0...? No, they are all set correctly, or at least as close as I could measure by hand with a calipe...

Alternative to M218

I am using a Hyrel3D Engine; my intent is to print with multiple nozzles. Their printers have a built-in computer system, and the software used to run the machine will not accept M218 commands. But the printer's firmware is Repetier, which generally recognizes M218. I checked the box "Apply toolhead...

Re: Toolhead Offset

The machine definition just tells Simplify3D about your machine. If you need to update your toolhead offsets, you'll need to edit those M218 values, which are probably in your start script, on the Scripts tab of the settings. This worked, thanks! It's unnecessarily confusing to have so many redunda...

Re: Toolhead Offset

are not those values on the machine tab the values read from the printer firmware. I think the offsets in the gcode are the ones from the preferences in the profiles under the gcode tab. also under that tab do you have the update machine settings checked to write the correct values into the firmwar...

Re: Toolhead Offset

Have you checked your starting script to see if it has a hard-coded M218 value? Is that not what I showed in the SS of the gcode? If not, then not sure what you're referring to. If I manually change the M218 T1 code in the beginning of the gcode (shown in the second SS) to the proper values, the pr...

Toolhead Offset

I am using an Ord Rovapaste and trying to do a dual extruder print. The "default" toolhead offsets in S3D when selecting this printer model sets T1 to X63.815 Y-1.24. However, through trial and error by manually manipulating the gcode, I've determined the offset to be X66.1 and Y-1.0. I changed this...
