Re: using on two machies

Wait for the official reply but from what I seen so far, when you go to your "Account" you can see devices where app is "activated", when you uninstall you can "remove activation" by uninstalling but you can also manually de-activate a device on the account page. They allow up to 2 devices to be "ac...

Re: how common is it to change the extrusion multiplier?

Having said that, I only work in PLA and I always use plastic from one supplier. within a same material there's no reason to change the multiplier in normal operations. major reason to change the multiplier is to not have to change e-steps and difference in e-steps between 2 materials is mostly bec...

Re: Paid upgrade For 2019 upcoming Version 5.0

yes the Prusa slicer is free but for how long?? changing the licence of PS is so incredibly hard that's almost impossible. they can make some other slicer from scratch but changing PS to something not open sourced that cost money requires **every single developer that pushed code into slic3r** to s...

Re: registry migration from dead computer

move done, could not wait any more .. here's conclusion if anyone need to do this themselves :TLDR: 1. make regular backup of your profiles 2. MAKE BACKUPS 3. if you don't have backups, you need to copy from your old registry keys [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Simplify3D\S3D-Software\FFF] (and all the...

Please stop storing megabytes in windows registry :(

Since I had to migrate my whole settings from dead computer to new one I had to analyze the registry of S3D and I found that huge blobs are stored in registry itself (the table object, the last loded object ...) .. we are talking megabytes of data stored in registry.... this is not what windows know...

Re: 4.1.1 not working anymore with "curl" to send Gcode to Octoprint

use gcodestat :D

you have to add full path to program unless you put the file somewhere in global path (irrelevant if you use gcodestat or curl)

[feature request]

btw s3d already support number of profiles (reprap variants, makerbot variants, flashforge variants and bfb variants) so adding a mach3 or cnc profile should be simple ... supporting grbl code... etc.. anyhow, I'd prefer that they make "variant" external library and give source for e.g. marlin, and ...

Re: Change extruder name from E to A

I'm dying to know why you want to do this. probbly running some cnc firmware 'cause he detached his machining head and attached printing head and don't want to replace perfectly good electronics just 'cause it don't know how to deal with E axis ... originally E was not axis but you was setting E as...
