Re: 4.0 is out!

Agreed. Quite a few very good new features, but variable layer height is unfortunately not one of them. The new wizard sure makes splitting a process easier, but it is not a replacement for proper dynamic layer height. And despite that the release docs say that S3D will smoothly transition between p...

Re: Warning: Help > Reset All Settings will delete your prof

If you have system restore enabled, you might be able to get the registry settings back by restoring to a point before you did the reset. It might also be possible to get at the registry hive with Shadow Explorer (again, provided you have available restore points): http://www.shadowexplorer.com/down...

Re: Slicer removes chunks of the model

That's a really crappy model. I tried using the separate connected shells feature in S3D, but that causes S3D to choke, and become nonresponsive, so I suspect the model has loads of self-intersecting triangles. Did you try running it through a repair service before slicing? I did a quick test with m...

Re: RE: Finalizing Next Major Update

I agree, a sneak peek at what's coming up would be very nice. I think this is a very anticipated update, and a lot of people, myself included, can hardly wait for it. The slicing itself is at least as good in many of the free slicers, but the object manipulation and manual supports are better in S3D...

Re: Slicer behavior for thin walled sections

+1 This is one of the longest threads on the fourm, and it really needs to be fixed in the software. S3D is the only (afaik) paid slicer, and to have this long-standing issue, isn't really acceptable. S3D is a really good piece of software, but this is one of those things that sorely needs to be gre...

Re: [REQUEST] Smart startpoints for layer

This is a very good request indeed, to have this implemented in S3d would be very nice!

Re: Default Feed Rate and Maximum Feed Rate

+1
To have some upper limit defined by a known feed rate parameter that would always trump any other settings would be very useful. This is something taht is also present in some free slicers.
