PETG with Ender-3

Good morning Been a while I used a 3d printer with Simplify3d...but now I acquired this cheapo Ender-3 model which prints PLA very nicely...from first adjusment no failed prints (beside PLA wood of course ;o). But as PLA isn't very robust and ABS smells....has anyone successfully printed PETG with t...

Re: Vertex K8400 extruder feed

Haven't checked in the middle...but bought yesterday a "feeler gauge" which consists of several metal sheets from 0.05mm up to 1mm in 0.05mm steps... The folded paper adjustment just doesn't feel right to me (o; But then again there might be still some PLA leftovers on the nozzle tip.... According t...

I started with around 150 steps/mm...but switched then back again to 200 steps/mm and got better results... Had also to increase infill overlap to 25% (though still not satisfied completely). Vertex K8400 extruder feed

Hello I did now my first print with Simplify3d on my K8400.... I've read in some places that the extruder feed is wrong in the original Velleman firmware with 200 steps/mm...so I reduced it to around 145 steps/mm... What extruder feeds are other users using here with Simplify? Do you also have effec...

Re: Recommend 3D modeling software for OSX

Thanks for the recommendations... I finally ended up using openscad....though it seems it hasn't been updated for a while... but much more control than the sluggish and imprecise GUI on ViaCAD (o; I personally like the way that you model the design in a text editor...just like in the good old days o...

Recommend 3D modeling software for OSX

Good evening I just came across this software when I was looking for a new 3D printer compatible with OSX. Which OSX modeling software would users here recommend as a companion to Simplify3D? Tried a demo software of ViaCAD 2D3D today but its user interface and its precision are unusable. thanx in a...
