Re: Simplify3D Version 2.0 Now Available!

Hansie, What material are you trying to print? For ABS, yeah, you may need to get to 100 C or so to keep things stuck down, or try some other surfaces to print on. For PLA, you shouldn't have to go much above about 70 C. Also, might not hurt to get an "independent" measurement of the bed temperature...

Dave,

Next time you go to print, check the "Verbose" box right before you start. When it stops, tell it to force next, and when it's going again, uncheck the Verbose box. Then copy out the contents of the communications log window. That should tell us where it hangs.

Re: Simplify3D Version 2.0 Now Available!

Hansie, Try unchecking the box for waiting for temperature to stabilize. Checking that box makes the printer wait until the temperature stabilizes AT SETPOINT (100 C), not just until it is "steady". Disadvantage is you have to wait for your printer to come up to temp before starting the print, becau...

Re: Found 2.0.0 in the downloads last night

Guido, Looks (for you) like it was worth the wait. A major rev is always a big thing and is always scary, no matter how much you test it. But Clayton and the team have accumulated a large number of printers to test on. (That must be one fascinating test lab to watch in action! I wonder what the elec...

Re: Software Update

fmeroney,

Although there hasn't been a formal announcement yet, it appears 2.0.0 is up on the Downloads page. I grabbed and installed the Linux 64-bit version last night, and it seems to work just fine with my 1.x key. Others have reported the Windows 64-bit version is also there.

Found 2.0.0 in the downloads last night

All, Clayton will get me for this, I'm sure ;-) but every day or so for the last couple weeks I've been hitting the downloads page to see what comes back. Last night I downloaded 2.0.0 for Linux 64-bit. VERY NICE!!! I haven't hooked it up to my M2 yet, but the changes I saw in the FFF setup were ver...

NG3D, YouTube says "Sorry, that video is private." (I assume it will tell endymion the same thing.) For endymion: Sorry I didn't chime in back when you originally posted. I've been doing a bunch of tuning myself lately, using the MAKE Magazine Torture Test object, and I'm getting a better feeling fo...

Re: curling edges

For those of you using printers other than the MakerGear M2: There have been several discussions on the MakerGear Google Group in the past few months about designing and using enclosures, especially for printing ABS. You might want to check those out. Controlling the ambient environment of the print...
