Re: curling edges

crj5017, For PLA, I start with the bed at 70C for the first layer or two, and back it off to 65C for the rest. I have added ending G-code to turn off the bed heat (and retract out the filament, then cut off extruder heat) as soon as the print is done. As the bed cools, you can hear the part coming l...

Re: z height bed lvl calibration file

jimc, I believe the .Factory file basically contains everything in the "print job" -- the STLs (or whatever source files you imported), the FFFs, and the generated GCode. Think of it like a "project" file, like some microcontroller / software development environments use. Clayton / S3D, please corre...

Re: z height bed lvl calibration file

Hey, jimc! Could you post the STL so folks with other printers could try it? Or the .Factory file....

Thanks!

Re: Pausing a print option; different settings on dif. layer

crj5017, That's exactly what this option is for, but I don't think it actually "pauses" the print (like, for changing filament) --- although there might be a sneaky way to do that. Rather, I believe it just causes a smooth transition from one set of FFF settings to another at a given layer number. A...

Request for FORUM (not Creator!)

I don't know if you can do anything about the phpBB software regarding this, but this is my pet peeve with the forum website. I have this (hopefully not annoying) tendency to write rather long replies to posts -- hopefully in a helpful fashion! (I'm guessing you've all noticed.) I'm usually typing o...

Re: Bed Leveling Tool

crj5017, Your item #2 is correct: it is not an "automated levelling system" --- it is a tool that lets you plug in a list of positions to send the extruder for checking bed level (consistent gap between nozzle and bed). I have an M2, which has three bed level adjusting screws, and the levelling proc...

Re: print bed won't heat

22MIL, First, yes, if you set Creator to "stabilize" the bed temperature, it won't continue from the G-code that sets the bed temperature until it comes up to temperature and stays within a certian tolerance oftemperature setpoint for some defined period of time. However, you can uncheck the "stabil...

cd/Applications/S3DCreator-1.1.5/S3DCreator.app/Content/MacOS
There's a space after "cd" (that's the Change Directory shell command), and /Applications/....... is the directory to set as the current directory. So it's:

Code: Select all

cd /Applications/S3DCreator-1.1.5/S3DCreator.app/Content/MacOS

Re: Retraction Value

Curious which "retraction value" you guys are talking about? In Creator 1.1.5, I see "Retraction Distance", "Extra Restart Distance", "Retraction Vertical Lift", and "Retraction Speed" all under the Retraction area. I am having problems with little dimples where the print head stops and starts, and...

Re: Perimeter getting "puffier" on 100% solid prints

Just go to Thingiverse and search "Calibration". Here's a collection in one download that should do nicely: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5573
