Re: Perimeter getting "puffier" on 100% solid prints

Sounds like over-extruding. If your Extrusion Multiplier is 1.00 (100%), maybe back it down a couple percent at a time. Do this with some calibration objects. The X/Y motion is generally right on, but if you are over-extruding, the lines of filament will be wider than expected, and packing them toge...

Re: Retraction Value

And (as jimc will tell you because I told him) I switched on G2/G3 in Creator for my M2 (which I received in 04/2013) and it made a NOTICABLE improvement in the cylindrical columns on the MAKE Magazine "torture test" object. MUCH smoother columns, more consistent diameter/circularity and layer-to-la...

Re: Retraction Value

Richard, Here's how I interpret the G-code you posted (my comments added to code). Let me know if this makes sense.... G92 E0 ; zero the extruder at current position G1 E1.1 F360 ; extrude 1.1 mm filament --- this is the RETURN from the previous retraction, which would be two lines before the G92 E0...

Re: Extrusion multiplier

22MIL, I'm going to stick my neck out here, and somebody can correct me if I'm wrong. Based on the nozzle diameter, filament diameter, layer height, X/Y motion speed, etc., Creator calculates how fast to run the extruder to push the right amount of filament so you get a certain thickness. This is al...

Re: printer runs off print bed and extrudes filament

Hmmm. I know the M2 example files on the SD card have the "wipe at the beginning" sequence. I always wanted my files from Creator to do that, and they only did after I specifically added a "wipe" sequence to the Start G-code. (I think it's on the misc. tab...). I took ketil's starting and ending G-c...

Re: weird feeding problem with windows version

I suggest posting both G-code files (carefully named so we can tell which is which!) so we can have a look and see what's different.

Re: drops and blobs

22MIL, I think I read another post where a user said that you can go back to defaults by selecting another material or quality, and then going back. So write down all your settings first ( ), then make a couple of those major changes (material, quality), then go back and see if the settings ...

Re: Replicator 2x

Hmmm... Perhaps check the port and baud rate on the Machine Control Panel. Does your USB connection to the printer really show up as "COM1"? Tap the arrow to the right to see a list of possible ports. Also, does the printer expect 115.2 kBaud, or 230.4 k, or ???? If you still can't connect, probably...

Re: drops and blobs

22MIL, It probably depends on a lot of things, like: * type, brand, color of filament * temperature settings (different filaments soften, melt, expand, and stick at different temperatures) * cleanliness of hot end * I.D. of hot end barrel vs O.D. of filament (too much room to expand means taking lon...
