[ADDED] Update of Dimensions When Changing Scale Values

Is there any way to have the calculated object dimensions in mm update in response to changes in the Scale value without the need to keep closing and re-opening the model settings dialog? It would also be extremely useful to be able to type a desired target mm into one of the three XYZ bounding box ...

[ADDED] Indicator for front of build platform

Can we get an option to enable a small indicator icon for the front of the build table similar to what Cubify, FlashForge or Makerbot software have? I know we have the Y axis arrow but that easily gets occluded by parts on the table. Nothing too prominent, just a small triangle or square shape to ma...

Build Preview Black After So Many Layers?

I'm trying to prep a model for printing and keep having an issue where the build preview turns black after a certain number of layers. My model is now approx 5" tall and the resolution is 100 0.1mm. What is interesting is if I scale the same model down a bit and make it only 4.5" tall the ...

Re: Auto vs Manual extrusion width

I would love to see more info on this subject as well. The default settings for my Dremel printer come in as 0.40mm nozzle size and 0.40mm extrusion width. If I check then uncheck AUTO, this value switches to 0.48mm. To try and reduce some sparseness issues on top layers I'm trying a test at 0.45 ex...

Re: Fill Rate - Gaps In Flat Areas On Top?

jimc wrote:. A .4 nozzle should have a width setting .45-.65. Setting it near or below your nozzle dia causes issues with the print as well. Mostly infill problems which also result in bad top surfaces.
Is it recommended to use the AUTO Extrusion Width setting?

Software for auto creating joints and splits?

Does anyone know of programs that can do procedural splits and joint/key creation along those splits when breaking up a single model into multiple prints? So far the only one I've found is 3d Coat. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taRvf2Rz9Zw (Video showing 3dCoat's "splits and joints" feat...

Re: Moire Patterns In Prints - How To Reduce?

Yep, just as I was suspecting in relation to object sizes. Good to know the actual term and mechanics behind it. I will have to investigate if the Dremel firmware allows such low-level tweaking. If not, there might be a way to hack it using Flashforge Dreamer setttings...dunno. Worst case I guess I ...

Moire Patterns In Prints - How To Reduce?

I am guessing this is less of a specific S3D issue and probably more related to my printer hardware, but I'm discovering that the knowledge on this forum is better than any other 3d printing board I've found :) My printer is a Dremel Idea Builder, which is a rebranded Flashforge Dreamer with a few m...

Re: Add new supports under existing ones?

those are just support indicators. what does the support look like in the preview after its sliced? thats what counts. if you want better detail lower the size of your support grid. The are hanging out in the wind even more due to a 1mm inflation setting. I will post a screen grab when I get home t...
