Re: Extremely Thin Walls - Makerbot Replicator 2/Sailfish

It looks like simplify3d is flagging that wall as having a thickness LESS than your extrusion width. Makerbot probably doesn't care and plows ahead regardless. Either make the wall thickness equal to or greater than your extrusion width (probably .4mm). you can also experiment with lower extrusion ...

Re: Mouse Ears

I simply use a hobby knife to slice off mouse ears instead of breaking them off. However, I have broken them from time to time and generally I don't have problems with them breaking the actual print. It sounds to me like you may have a separate issue with layer adhesion if the mouse ears are strong ...

Re: Tip of the Day Compilation: FFF Settings Window

Good job bro :)
I've spent months with this software printing many many different objects. Nice to see someone with more patience than myself to write stuff down :)

Re: Purge / Wipe Wall Feature

Requested many times before.

+1 anyway since I'm still waiting for it too. And yes.. I've read and tried about every tip everyone has ever suggested. Some work some of the time. They all fall short in one way or another.

Very Large Raft

So I have this part that is a very large base area. It fills a good portion of my 11x9 hd2x. Also, this part is mostly support on the bottom so I print on a raft so the support material will stick. The net result is I have this first layer that is really just a bunch of lines across the print bed at...

Re: Airwolf3d HD2X profile

Wish I could give you positive re-enforcement. I never figured out wall quality issues on this. When I want nice results I just print on my little FlashForge Creator Pro, which delivers me hassle free pretty prints. I only use my hd2x for large PLA prints where I can get away with a lesser quality f...

Re: Show your printings done with Simplify3d

Here is a good example of S3Ds latest horizontal size compensation feature. I took -.15mm off the ring part on this to make the threads perfectly fit together. Threads like it was tap and died.

Re: 2.2.2 is almost perfect for dual extruder prints

Many people don't understand the difference between gcode and GPX et. al. They just know this is broken if they don't do some type of workaround. Since S3D packages and ships GPX they should also take responsibility to patch it (or the gcode if they prefer) whichever way fixes the issue. Because as ...

Re: purge walls for dual printing (and singel)

Well now, I have done some investigation and found a way. The simple solution is of course for S3d to add a proper purge wall, but that might just happen 2019 or so. In the meantime, this is one way of using sacrificial objects that might work That pretty much sums up my experience. "might&quo...

Re: 2.2.2 is almost perfect for dual extruder prints

So if I'm printing on a dual extrusion, and I change the temperature, it'll look something like this ; new layer with new temperature M140 S<whatever> T0 ... continue printing <here is the problem we were printing with T1 not T0> ... broken... So to fix it I just put a T1 after the temperature set c...
