Re: Help with Nylon Prints

I haven't used Gizmodorks nylon - I've only had one spool of Gizmodorks material - it was black PC and never was able to get a decent print from it. So my limited experience with Gizmodorks would lead me to avoid their material. I've had plenty of beautiful prints from eSun PC. My nylon prints have ...

Re: make solid object made only of walls

Change your extrusion width to get the print characteristics you want.

Re: PETG question and help

When I saw your photo, I thought you had a super thin web that was breaking off, but this part has some mass to it. it should be a good, strong part in PETG. Can you share your factory file so I can see all your print parameters. The build on top of the support looks VERY loose, so I'm inclined to t...

Re: PETG question and help

Is that part broken, or intact? What does the bottom do? How is the part loaded that's causing the failure? Black is hard to photography - just attaching the STL file might be just as helpful. I'm wondering if your print orientation is the best choice. Can you print it as you show it lying on the ta...

Re: PETG question and help

Not all PETG materials are created equal. Who's PETG are you running? Temperatures also matter a lot. Different brands of PETG achieve optimal strength at different temperatures. I've had good luck with eSun, Hatchbox, and MG Chemical filaments. Hatchbox is my favorite PETG, but they have supply cha...

I'm also in the product development/innovation field, so I know how easy it is for things to snowball. I agree completely with Doug. You cracked the door open long ago.

Re: Alignment multiple parts

When you say "group the parts", do you mean EDIT>GROUP SELECTION? That's worked for me when moving multiple bodies.

Re: Exact speed preview?

In short moves that won't be an accurate indication of the true speed of the print head because of acceleration and jerk settings. Those can be in the firmware and not specified by the slicer, which means the slicer would not always be able to predict the true dynamics.

Re: external fill pattern: linear seam stacking

I can see benefit there, but in the interest of part strength I'd like to see an option for two layers overlapping at 45, then two layers overlapping at -45 (or whatever angles are selected).

Re: Small Circle accurate?

There are a lot of factors that come into play for dimensional accuracy. I have a system I developed for coming up with values for X&Y scale and horizonal offset that has worked well for me. Going real small on holes can still be a little tricky - like the tap drill for a 2mm thread is 1.6mm. I usua...
