Are there any purges/extrusions inside the starting script which might explain the 96.3mm³?

Re: S3D is telling me a massive length of filament is used

So I had a print that consumed (according to S3D) about 100 grams of material and S3D is telling me it used 35268.0 mm of filament. I kind of doubt it used 35 meters of filament. Is the S3D algorithm borked? Why do you doubt this? As there's not really much information to work with, a rough calcula...

Re: Layer to nowhere

It doesnt matter what layers are above It does. And it's not hard to understand. What IS hard to understand is you mixing up "should make full layers", marking internal overhangs on continuous extrusions in red but then claiming to talk about start/finish points of extrusions. Then you cl...

Re: Layer to nowhere

Not running S3Dv5, therefore no Gyroid infill. Here's screens from PrusaSlicer: If what you're worried about is indeed the red circled areas in your picture and not the start/finish points, this is what the problem looks like from below in PS: inf4b.JPG If you don't want parts of the infill to hang ...

Re: Layer to nowhere

I am not sure if you understand that situation correctly. The first layer on the infill is printing without start and finish point on the infill so it starts and finishes in the air so it just stays on the nozzle and you "pull it with it back". Then maybe you can clarify a few things, so ...

Re: Layer to nowhere

This is definitelly not how the slicer should work. I have still the same problem everytime and this should not be the behavior of slicer. If i have infill and next layer is coming it should make a full layer, not stopping in the air. It's impossible to say how that layer should look without knowin...

Re: Remote USB port over IP. (USBIP?)

...Currently I have to run a 10ft USB cable across the room from my PC to my 3D printer every time I want to print.... ...Octoprint seems to be overkill for what I want to do; i.e. print from S3D to a virtual USB port on my Windows PC... Personally I don't like the idea of having a PC running for t...

Re: Show me backwards parts

My machine X300, Y650, Z395. Home to Zero. Zero is top, right, back side. Sure I could reverse X + Y. But the issue would be the same. Also the head rides on the X Axis not the Y axis, as is normal for DIY hardware would wide. I tried to edit the Device file, and it did not make a difference. I tri...

Re: Corners not filling.in

What do I need to change to get these corners to fill in? I have changed the extrusion multiplier to 1 and automatic. regular PLA .4mm dia. You might want to check the preview and pay attention to the retracts and/or starting positions. The picture does look like bad retracts, missing material afte...
