Re: Infill Type Question.

If I scale the part to 75% and use 50% Gyroid infill this is what I get. No image even though it seems to slice.
Anything higher on infill and it just shuts S3D down.

Re: Infill Type Question.

Here is a factory test file. The part is a representation of the actual part.

Re: Gyroid Infill Crashes V5

You could try going to Tools > Options, and disable the "Automatically load preview after slicing" option. That way you can try to export the gcode without loading the preview at all. From looking at the build, I would definitely suggest using a different pattern if you want to use this h...

Re: Infill Type Question.

Thanks,
I'd like to try a few of these infills but I can't get V501 to slice them. It crashes!
I have another post covering that topic.

Re: Scaling doesn't safe size

When you do a rotate by the numbers it also doesn't save.

Infill Type Question.

Doing a large part, 300X200X100, basically it is like a large rectangular box. I am wondering what infill pattern will be the least likely to exert pulling forces on the sides and ends of the box while it is cooling and contracting. These forces tend to aggravate any lifting or warping of the bottom...

Re: Gyroid Infill Crashes V5

Sinusoidal also crashes it when set above 15%. There are no odd settings or anything complex. simple straight forward print. The crash takes place while it is "parsing build file". The green progress bar gets to the end and it acts like it is about to display the resulting slice and the pr...

Change Rotation Resets To "0" After Arrange

When you take a part and rotate it on the build plate then click on "Arrange" it resets the value you entered for rotation to "0" rather than leaving the value you set in the numerical selector box. This is very inconvenient if you are testing how many degrees you need to rotate ...

Re: Gyroid Infill Crashes V5

Model is large. 300 X 180 X 120. It seems to be the Sinusoidal and Gyroid that do it so far. So I think it is the infills with the more exotic patterns. More mathematically complex.
All other settings are pretty routine.

Re: Gyroid Infill Crashes V5

Customer file so can't share.
Only did this on gyroid and another type. Other such as rectilinear are fine.
