Re: Space bar stops print!

It's also probable that the window that has focus (I'm guessing you leave the control panel up) has the UI disconnect/stop button selected and pressing spacebar is pushing that button as well, since the computer isn't asleep, so it's going to do whatever keypress you use. Just use a different button...

Re: Live Print Speed Change

You can do this from the machine control panel if you have a machine with decent firmware. There's a feed rate override knob and it will slow everything down uniformly by sending a command to the firmware while streaming gcode.

Re: I have problems with S3Ds Bed Leveling Wizard

Ah, gotcha. The coordinates that you show in your screenshot look like they should be okay. Homing works well? Try manual controls from the jog window and see if you can jog to those coordinates.

Re: I have problems with S3Ds Bed Leveling Wizard

Need to use the onboard leveling on the Ultimaker. It homes at the bottom and has a firmware value for the top of travel, you need to update that value if you're using a nozzle with a different offset. There's other ways to do it, but I think that's the easiest.

Re: Manual extrusion knob

That knob issues a flow rate override in the command window and if your firmware doesn't support it, it does nothing.

Might be nice if instead of doing that, it would automatically multiply E values, but that could come with its own potential issues.

Re: Graphics Bug

I'm curious, are you using a 32 bit version? I'm on 64 bit and I've not seen this before either, even when setting the build area unusually high (like meters large). It sounds kind of like Z-fighting, though.

Re: Extrusion (wall thickness) problem

Also, are you sure that you're only printing one perimeter? or are you using a thin walled STL that actually gets two passes (one inner, one outer? To measure wall thickness, print a solid cube with 1 perimeter and 0 infill, then stop it once it gets a couple millimeters up so that you're past the s...

Re: unclean first layer

Yep! One step makes this all better! Dont use a raft. Problem solved! Seriously, I don't get why everyone loves rafts, they're a waste of time and material. If you can get a raft to print, but can't get your first layer to print, you should adjust your first layer settings or bed, rather than use a ...

Re: Build Plate Lowering Prior to Starting Print (UM2+)

I noticed one thing - the one labeled old model is trying to print the first layer at Z=1. Are you sure you labeled them correctly? The one attempting to print a 1mm layer height seems like it would not likely work well (since the UM2 nozzle is what, 0.4mm?). That's from having raft enabled & a ...

Re: Bad Slicer settings? what do I have to change?

Yeah, their troubleshooting guide is only half the story, IMO. It's a bit like machining in this regard, you can do a lot with a not great machine, but you have to be very aware of how everything interacts with everything else. When programming a lathe, I often have to consider, for instance, the fl...
