Re: forcing "single" perimeter

I have attached the file. You will see the two perimeter loops; one for the large section, and a separate one for the loop. I want the loop to go all the way around, for strength and smooth building. Currrently, it shows in the preview the loop ending in a notch where it is supposed to be straight, ...

forcing "single" perimeter

I have a part that is a single-width loop with a thicker part below it. The loop is forming after the thicker part, so the outer perimeter is formed in two separate sections. Is there a way to force it to do the whole outer perimeter? I tried inside out and outside in, and they both did it the same ...

Re: extrusion multiplier and filament diameter after extrusi

if you are talking about the "post extrusion" diameter of your nozzle into into air, then it is irrelevant. That can vary depending on the material and other parameters such as how much the material draws back on itself. (That's why "extrusion machines" have pullers.) What the calculation needs is t...

Re: extruder recommendation?

It obviously is your first rodeo. Will your mill control extruder temps? 3d print Gcode isn't very much like any other mill gcode. You are funny. I usually use industrial temperature controllers for these applications. I have made hot air blowers, retrofitted multiple injection molding machines, an...

Re: extruder recommendation?

I mostly print pla due to simplicity, but i have about a half dozen different materials I use.

The mill I have in mind is benchtop, but fully enclosed, so it can be heated without too much trouble. I'm just looking to reduce my machine footprints. too many toys...not enough space.

Re: extruder recommendation?

Thanks for the "reality check" on the nozzle/height, but I just threw out a few numbers trying to get the point across that I'm not interested in a hand-sized part taking several hours to print, the way most hobby-speed extruders do. This is not my first rodeo, and I'm not using a router; my mill ca...

Nobody has an extruder they like?
Has anybody tried E3d Volcano or the i3D Inno?

Re: Infill / Outline Overlap for Solid Infill

It is changing the infill extrusion length--how much the infill line overlaps onto the outlines.

Re: API for add-ins

Most things can be done with a post processing script. All of the settings are at the top of the file, so unless you actually need to modify the STL (which can be done before importing), many things can be accomplished with a simple text editor (automated, of course).

But I still +1 just because.
