Re: reversing direction on outline of small cylinder

I know exactly what you mean.... If I print a 20x20x10 cube with 2 perimeters and 0% infill, 3 bottom, 3 top solid layers, the print head moves in one direction only while building the walls BUT if I use the exact same settings on a cylinder shaped model, then the print head reverses direction for e...

Bridging improvements in v4 are great but.....

I like the new settings for bridging as it gives way more control over that aspect of the print BUT..... why is it if I take a 20mm x 20mm x10mm high solid cube and tell S3D to print NO infill, 2 perimeters, 5 bottom and 5 top layers, it doesn't treat the first top layer it prints as a bridge? I hav...

Re: Random Stops during Print

It happens with Windows 10 only. I just changed to another computer with Windows 7 and prints the all day without any problem at all. The point is that in a years time you will not be able to find any new computer with windows 7 so this one has to be sort it out. Actually I have almost the same iss...

Re: Random pauses while printing

This is a guess.....you're running WIndows 10 and printing via USB. If so, stop using USB and start using SD cards.....a known issue that you will find posts about if you search the forum. Thanks for replying... but.... Absolutely NOT windows 10! I will never run that piece of crap OS. I'm on Windo...

Random pauses while printing

I have noticed that almost every print I have done since installing S3D-v4 that the print will randomly pause for 1-3 seconds then continue on. It usually will only do this once but I have seen it happen twice on one print job. The weird thing is, reprinting the same model without adjusting any sett...

Re: Coasting problem or ??

I am using 4.00mm retraction distance, 0.1mm Vertical Lift, 44.0mm/s retraction speed, and a wipe of 3mm. I have also told S3D my .4mm nozzle is .34 and that helped a lot. Extrusion multiplier is set to 0.97 From there you need to get your filament diameter as close as possible and temps and cooling...

Error parsing model

I have now experienced this 3 times with different models. If the slicer throws an parsing error then the previous model I had in the queue pops into the 3D view window but there is no model listed in the Models section of the screen to be able to remove it and from there the only way to get rid of ...

Re: Coasting problem or ??

I was getting the exact same issue until I turned off coasting completely and upped my retraction distance to compensate. Without coasting on my corners and start points are normal.

Re: Profiles are disappearing, how about you?

I have a similar issue, every time I start S3D, the FFF process is completely gone. If I click ADD to add a new process, it usually adds the process with the same settings as I was previously using but not always. This is another example how tight security prevents the registry from being properly u...

Build Statistics

It would be nice to have the "Build Time:" be changed to "Build ETA:" and add the "Actual Build Time:" below once the print has completed. With the current method of calculating the build time being so far out, this would allow a accurate build time result on every buil...
