Re: Model are broken

I repaired your model (using Netfab - my stand-alone verson). There's a Netfab (now owned by another company) service on the net, you can upload your files and get them fixed...

Repaired file attached and screenshot in s3d showing passed manifold...

Re: Simultaneous heating of the bed and extruder.

The first question to consider is: Why do printers heat Extruder and Bed separately?

I recommend a bit of homework before burning your power board... Of course, many printers use a $30 board so, for $30, you can have some fun while creating what will end up as a paper-weight...

Re: Math into Gcode Scripts or Post processing

I haven’t had a need to do math in Gcode but, I found this for Slic3r https://manual.slic3r.org/advanced/conditional-gcode Slic3r is a great App, especially if used in conjunction with Repeteir-Host (which, basically makes it a robust app similar to Simplify). Perhaps the info can be a starting poin...

Re: Leaves thick strings and lumps during printing

In general, this is how most hot-ends are assembled… Starting with Un-assembled condition with clean parts (removed filament, goop…): Heat the hot-end (I usually use the filament pre-heat feature on my printers. If not on the printer, use a small torch/etc). Don’t need to fully heat it, just enough ...

Re: CAD Recommendation to use with S3D

I used Solidworks (and Pro-E, Inventor, Cadkey) since 1996 and occasionally, still do. But, for the past 3 years, I've been using FreeCAD. It does everything. While learning it can be confusing, it's pretty simple to learn if you stay away from folks on their forum that want to show you haw smart th...

Re: How to create a Negative for Molds?

ADDED Thought I'd add additional info: I used rubber molding material from Tap Plastic's to make these molds from 3D-Printed parts. Simple - just pour into a container (I used a frozen food container). Set your part in the container at desired height (support it with something small). Pour in the ma...

Re: How to create a Negative for Molds?

There are several App’s that can manipulate .STL files (if you’re not able-to / familiar-with CAD/other App’s for modeling). I’ve designed many Molds for injection molding and Homemade molds for Polyurethane, RTV, Silicone and, Hot-Glue. It's fun. Modeling your gizmo is preferred, of course. However...

Re: Printing without shells not generating usable g code

FYI - recently installed 4.1.1 (previous was 4.0) so, I thought I'd try something with Zero shells.

Works as it should - tried two parts - both generated usable gcode. Verified by loading the Gcode into Repetier-Host. Results of one part attached... Only the internal infill and Top/Btm layers...

Re: Pause at Height (NOT LAYER)?

If you dig deeper into it, you'll find there are G & M codes for pausing at Height. However, Codes, while they generally work across several machines, not all facilitate the full list of codes. Example: M26 pauses an SD card print Here's a good link with indicators on what machines work/don't wo...

Re: Printing a threaded insert and accepting piece

Thought I clarify my comment about two parts printed with two process at the same time to produce desired results - hopefully the picture saves me a thousand words  ( the Nut is embedded in the Box - done in CAD (in this case, FreeCAD). When printed in a single print with two process, the resul...
