Re: Makerbot Z18. Temperature over ride issues?

Ive recently started using Simplify 3D with our MakerBot Z18 printers. I'm running into a temperature issue. My extruder became jammed after attempting to print at 180C. I have attempted to change the temperature back to 215C many times with no luck. I'm not sure where this temperature is even comi...

Re: printing fine detail

Trying to print very fine detail. Have tried using the Layer option in my FFF Settings I use the Primary layer height from the default .1000 mm to .500 mm. Then on the Other tab I changed the default printing speed from 2400 mm to 1200 mm. The settings improved the figure but still the detail was l...

Re: new 3.01 bugs

HI here are some strange things I would like changed in simplify 3D the new 3.01 version - when I launch a print preparation it always selects all materials.. so I have to unselect all and reselect what i want ( it could also remember the material I selected in the list and also the models that are...

Re: 1 mm walls

Can you post a factory file? Changing things like # of perimeters, gap fill, minimum infill length, infill extrusion width, can all have effects on this.

Just import the 1 mm wall part, setup your process settings then go to File-->Save Factory File As, and post that file.

Re: External Layer Seperation

I would recommend increasing your Extrusion Multiplier. It looks like Simplify3D is generating a tool-path based on a certain extrusion width and layer height, but not enough filament is coming out which is leading to these gaps. Increasing the amount of filament that comes out should prevent gaps.

Re: FSR Hardware Bed Leveling

It does not appear as if S3D supports hardware bed leveling with FSRs. I inserted a G29 code in the scripts for start and it does complete that but it does not appear as if it is being used. The head parks to the side and on print start lowers the bed then slides across the bed to the center then b...

Can you post a factory file, or a screenshot of the Other tab and Cooling tab?

Re: Tip of the Day 4- Layer tab, a technical analysis

I see in the tab screen shot this is for PLA, what changes would be made for ABS or nylon ? Great tips. I bought a Robo3d R1 with auto-leveler about 2 months ago, lots to learn. Thanks Changing the material configure would change things like the temperature, cooling settings and extrusion multiplie...

Re: Multiple Passes

JoeJ thanks for taking the time. I've checked the bed it's all good there, and the nozzle is right on. Here is the factory file Print Name One.factory . This a machine just out of the box so this is the first attempt at a print. I've also attempted to print something much smaller, but it did it all...

Re: How to get stringless print

Is retraction speed the same in both programs? Also, what printer are you using? 10 mm of retraction is quite a bit, unless you're using a bowden printer.
