Re: V3.0 - Striving for perfection

I agree...3.0 answers so many requests and will make a huge difference in our results. But I'm confused with your last two questions. :?: Have you had a chance to look at the change log? https://www.simplify3d.com/software/changelog/ You have to scroll and scroll to see all the changes and many of t...

Re: pink woman problem :(

You might already know this tip. When you have a problem at the top of the model, don't waste time printing the whole model. Instead, drop the model below the build plate and just print the top portion as a test. Then you can try several solutions without wasting a lot of filament. With the new mode...

Re: What s3d is really missing are two things

Have you looked at today's posts in the "general Requests" sub-forum? Some big news! You can get a preview of what's coming in 3.0. Looks like the devs were working on ALL these things you requested, and more!

Re: Problem with vase model model looking "wispy"

Great advice - I didn't know about the "merge all outlines" option which appears in the Other tab, but it did the trick. I'm very happy with the finished product. The glow of the IKEA LED candle flickers through the transparent filament nicely, so I'm printing 6 of them to go on the dinner...

Problem with vase model model looking "wispy"

I'm trying to print something using Simplify3D Vase Mode (found in the Layer tab), but I have a problem. In Preview Mode, I can see that the top of my model isn't going to print correctly. The walls at the top look "wispy" (image attached), whereas the wall should be continuous all the way...

Re: Show your printings done with Simplify3d

BorisC, I love your model. I also found your blog post: http://3dtoday.ru/blogs/bcman/simplify3d-and-complex-model/ It was funny to send your blog post through Google translator....the translation said: "In the end, I found the perfect program for your needs - Simplify3D. It will Chickens and a...

Re: Rounded Overhangs Not Printing

That is a GREAT idea JimC!
It would certainly print in 2 perfect pieces, each piece flat-side down and with a nicely tapered point.

Re: Rounded Overhangs Not Printing

Sorry for the delay but I assumed that the fourm would email me if anyone responded. Anyway, here is the factory file. Set support for a 35 degree angle. I think I figured out why you didn't get notified! When you are creating your Forum post, you need to place a checkmark in the box labeled "...

Re: Rounded Overhangs Not Printing

I love working with supports so I was glad you posted your Factory File. I believe the problem can be seen by rotating your model in Preview Mode to see the underside of the model construction. In the images attached, you'll see that with 4mm supports, there are no supports placed under the very cen...

Re: manually defined support not showing up?

Without a Factory File, it's really hard provide a definitive answer (we can't really see your scale or settings), but I can provide something I've learned about supports from using S3D since 2013. You are MUCH better to construct your support structure as if it was a network . Try to avoid placing ...
