Re: Dual Extrusion Support Generation

Here's a different factory file for another part variant. You'll see that it generates supports outside of the part for no reason whatsoever which is going to give me color contamination (isn't it?). Also, for some unknown reason, it's printing the middle layer at 100% infill no matter what seeings ...

Re: Dual Extrusion Support Generation

When I add supports, it doesn't take into account the second color model until it slices. That's confusing and makes it very hard to manually tweak supports.

I'll go back and play with it some more.

Thanks!

Dual Extrusion Support Generation

I've been playing around with the dual extrusion features on S3D v3. Unfortunately, I seem to have found some weird support bug that causes supports to be generated between the layers of a dual color print. As you can my aligned smooth wall sides are having supports generated inside them! Until I fi...

Re: Working with the new profiles (v3.0)

As for question number 2... They suggest that you use an existing dual extrusion printer to start configuring your machine. They're serious about this. just selecting 2 extruders with the other printer type is not adequate to activate the dual extrusion features.

Working with the new profiles (v3.0)

OK, I'll admit, I've done a quick search of the forum, a quick test of the software and quick perusal of the quick start guide. Emphasis on quick so I may have missed some of the obvious things. 1. There seems to be implication that the profiles are saved to the cloud. However, when I setup my custo...

Re: Smoothie Support for dual extrusion

Hmm, so s3d does not support smoothie correctly? Shame, as i am about to buy a smoothie board soon.. According to Leon, it seems like the Smoothieboard/Smoothieware is supported, he just had his smoothieboard configured incorrectly. If he had used any other slicing software he would have run into t...

Re: A better way of saving/loading profiles

I agree, the load/save, import/export functionality is confusing at best and is complicated by the fact that some parameters are preserved with a profile in memory and others require exporting the file, editing XML by hand (but not in Mac's textedit because that borks the files), and then reimportin...

Re: Smoothie Support for dual extrusion

OK, I was able to make some progress on this without having to edit the staring script. Smoothie supports assigning M104/108 to hot end 2 as well as 1. It just isn't that way by default. They also support the Tx flags on the end of the line even though I was originally led to believe this wasn't the...

[DONE] Smoothie Support for dual extrusion

Due to wisdom/cantankerousness that is beyond me, the developers of SmoothieWare do not support the traditional hot end temperature set method of (M104 or M109) M104 S190 T0 M104 S190 T1 Instead, they require setting the Hot end through a T0 or T1 first and then using a hot end specific M Code. Hot ...

Re: 2.1 has simply quit importing stl files!

Can you drag and drop? I've never been able to do an import without crashing but D&D works fine.
