Re: How to change initial starting purge (nozzle wipe?)

"G4 P3500" just makes it wait and do nothing for 3.5 seconds before continuing. It doesn't actually extrude or retract anything. I suppose if you had a large amount of ooze it would let it happen.

Re: Feature Request - Lay Flat

+1. I usually just futz with rotations until it looks right.

Or you can open the model in Netfabb Basic and tell it which side you want to be the bottom, although if the model is irregular then that doesn't help.

Re: Gcode messed up for 1 of 4 objects - hole closes up

Yeah, definitely a weird non-reproducible bug. The only reason I noticed was because I happened to look at it an hour or two into the print and noticed that one of the gear holes had been covered up. Then I checked the gcode and saw what was happening. Oh well. I still love S3D. It's the easiest and...

This is the stl file. It's from http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:213946, but has been separated out.

When I sliced and printed it again by itself it worked fine.

Re: Skirt shape request

Thanks, I'll try that. It does reduce it to one skirt, but only when the individual pieces are close to each other. I also don't need to skirt to match the outline of the pieces so closely. I'd be happier with just a big loop around all the pieces. Faster that way too.

Re: Skirt shape request

+1

I'd like to see a skirt option like Slic3r does it, where the skirt is around all the objects at once rather than around each individual object. This is more efficient and less likely to cause problems with strings or dragging.

Gcode messed up for 1 of 4 objects - hole closes up

I'm trying to print 4 identical cubical gears at once. They were placed by duplicating the first gear 3 times. All 4 gears are supposed to have a hole from one end (the bottom as placed) into the middle. When the GCode was created, three of the gears were fine but for one of them the hole starts, th...

Re: Simplify3D vs. Slic3r Marvin

You may also want to try a lower layer height. I find I can frequently get between 50-55 degrees before needing support with 0.1mm printing at 195.

Re: How to change initial starting purge (nozzle wipe?)

Could you share the code you use to print those first few lines? I'm running into the same problem myself (also with a Simple Metal) and was thinking of doing something similar.
