Re: Custom Support Shapes

Unfortunately I don't see this being all that useful. I think what many would like to see is tree supports. Look at the tree supports in Flashprint for a great example. tree supports would be awesome but this actually is very useful, load your STL in meshmixer, generate support in meshmixer (analyz...

Re: Adaptive layer height add on

Cura have a good settings here - there you define thickness of the top/bottom layers and not number of layers, makes a lot of sense as when you change the layer height it automatically changes the number of top/bottom layers to get to the required thickness (you can force the number of layers instea...

Re: Paid upgrade For 2020 upcoming Version 5.0

I'm used to long delays from game devs, and I'm usually ok with waiting until it's ready. I started making my living from software development at the '80s so I have more than a handful of delayed projects, canceled projects and all different kind of $%@%^@#^& but in all that time I never seen a...

Re: Paid upgrade For 2020 upcoming Version 5.0

Fabbaloo has a differing opinion. hm An entirely new user interface the interface is one of the few things s3d is better than everyone else ... changing interface is the "100% not going to upgrade" scenario for many many many users A new 3D engine behind the scenes The existing 3D engine ...

Re: Request for an honest update

There is another method for sending jobs to a Duet enabled printer as well. curl -F "file=@[output_filepath]" "maestro/rr_upload?name=gcodes/[output_filename].gcode" curl "maestro/rr_gcode?gcode=M32[output_filename].gcode" curl "maestro/rr_disconnect" for due...

Re: S3D stopped loading on Windows 11

there will probably be loads of gcode files from recent prints. nothing there, I save gcode files to a separate location (F:\gcode\) from where there are uploaded to octoprint and then removed from the workstation.. I think the issue was with contacting their auth servers as s3d was not started for...

Re: S3D stopped loading on Windows 11

haven't tried s3d for a long while but just did on win11 box and it took longer than usual to start (maybe something was running in the background irrelevant to s3d slowing startup down never mind that) but it started and works completely normal on a win11 box

Re: Order of Printing Multiple Parts

Is there no control over the order that parts are printed of multiple parts? you got bunch of advice already but check out this https://youtu.be/ZgytQDoaD5M You said you don't know much about g-code but if you have ton of those to print time invested to learn this method will pay itself many times ...

Re: OK, Time to Start Yet Another "Where is Version 5? " Thread

Please feel free to add your own speculations to the list. fun game ... e.g. main developer got married and then got a kid(s) and now is finding out that 2h of sleep per day is a blessing and time for programming is nowhere to be found so till a kid is at least 4 there won't be any real work possible

Re: OK, Time to Start Yet Another "Where is Version 5? " Thread

kind of a drag. This is the best dual-filament slicer out there. unfortunately that is true :( ... there is one that with few limitations can be almost as good (IdeaMaker) but yes, S3D is the only "really good" with multiple extruders are used, as with multiple tools with tool changer set...
