Re: Seasons Greetings

Maybe I am a little late with my sentiment, but I too agree with Doug. I probably would have given up on 3D printing if all that I initially had to work with were the free slicers. Lest anyone need reminding, they don't have manuals either (I still want a manual S3D!) With S3D as my start-up slicer ...

Re: How do I print two dual-color models at a time? SOLVED

That did help to refresh my memory about processes. When using the dual color tool however, they confuse the issue by grouping dual-color objects in the "models" window, and giving that group a name, and grouping processes in the Process window, and allowing you to assign those names. But, although ...

How do I print two dual-color models at a time?

I have fiddled for over an hour with this and failed. No matter what models I chose for a given process, when I try to use the dual-color tool, it selects all models. That doesn't work. I try to start with the dual-model tool and then select models, nope doesn't work either. Is it just not possible ...

Re: Proper documentation and more support for variables

For the love of god, will you PLEASE document scripting variables!!! For years you have relied upon power-users to document this program. It is time for you to do it. It is not possible to get a decent multi-color print without them. This could kick every other slicer's butt if you did this. P L E A...

Re: Single outline corkscrew is still broken.

Thanks Cap'n Snarky. That did the job. Next question I'll simply be snarky about the manual. Oh wait... I realize that "it is different than it used to be" is a poor complaint. But those two settings are a bit non-intuitive for a model that doesn't have a top layer and merging all outlines into a si...

Single outline corkscrew is still broken.

I have had S3D for a couple of years now, and back in the 3.xx times the single outline corkscrew actually did a corkscrew. For at least the last three revisions, it does not work. I have attached a factory file with a model from which I have made several single outline corkscrew early on, and does ...

Re: No support generated under model with non-flat bottom

I have a model for a helmet, which is not perfectly flat on the bottom. It arches upwards slightly, and this causes all sorts of trouble for attempting to print it. It seems that no matter what I do, I can't get support under the rim of the helmet, either automatic or manual, and attempting to prin...

Re: Why didn't it generate support when it was clearly needed?

I had support turned on (which you can see in the background *is* being provided for an overhang that hasn't yet printed), but these two openings in the front needed it, and they didn't get it. You can see the sag. What should I have done so that they too would have been supported? no_support.jpg I...

Re: Impossible slice?

I’m going to try a few things tonight - I realize trying to print infill without a perimeter will be a disaster, so at a certain point this will just be an academic excercise. DLC’s suggestion gave me an idea... I just had an idea. I have this happen with S3D all the time unintentionally. In your d...

Re: Why is layer 2 so much faster than all the others?

Its going to be impossible for anyone to provide you with any useful guidance if you're providing virtually no information about how you have yopur current settings.....any of them! Can you please do the following.... 1) Load a sample shape int S3D and set up one of your profiles which you are gett...
