Re: Will there ever be any updates?

What are all these questions about a new version? The company is DEAD. Like "lights out, nobody gives a shit" dead. There is no office location, there is no employee, and the only thing that you will get here is a comment from the founder who seems to have a medical marijuana card and liv...

Re: Will there ever be any updates?

Check this response from an ex-employee on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/Simplify3D/comments/lpgfha/comment/gqj73z4/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 That is pretty definitive. They closed their commercial space and have no new address registered with the SoS in their state. Th...

Re: OK, Time to Start Yet Another "Where is Version 5? " Thread

Although I'm sure my response a long time ago was deleted calling it that S3D would scapegoat the pandemic when the opportunity came. No surprise they did. Please do tell us how a job (programming) that can be done remotely with slack/teams/zoom/etc, and testing which also doesn't require a live te...

Huh. We’ll see. If they don’t have tree supports and better (official) scripting abilities, there won’t be anything in it that I really want.

This is a mesh error, not a slicer error. Many slicers will look bad with a bad STL or OBJ file. It isn't S3Ds fault.

Re: TPU printing Help

When printing TPU, you print slower and turn the part fan to higher speed.
Slow is what you get when you print TPU.
You can tune your temperature and your part fan for better prints, but you have to print slow.

Re: Will there ever be any updates?

I got your suggested Superslicer slicer. Like Prusaslicer, I can't send a job to a printer, I have to save it to a media card or import the gcode and send it via CURA or S3D. Am I missing something? Also, If I modify a printer/filament setting in the advanced or experts, how do I save my changes? UP...

Re: This software is AWFUL

I think you should check the code that generated the STL files. Run it through Meshmixer or something similar and you'll find the problems there. S3D can fix some bad meshes with its tools, but you'd get better results from a better STL or OBJ file than relying on S3Ds mesh repairs.

Re: Request for an honest update

Fortunately, there is a solution for sending your files to your Octoprint enabled printer. In the "scripts" tab, at the bottom of the window there is another window labeled "Additional command line post processing" or something like that, if you put the following there, you will ...

Re: OK, Time to Start Yet Another "Where is Version 5? " Thread

Well, OK, so future S3D development seems unlikely. Let's hope it isn't because of something terrible. S3D still does not suck. It hardly rates an "I'll never use it again!" kind of attitude towards it. It still prints things I can't print using CURA, and I've yet to come to grips with Sli...
