Re: Extruder clicking

Extrusion multiplier changes are usually pretty small. I think it's more likely that your filament drive tension was marginal and your filament diameter or properties varied a bit & pushed things a bit too far. If you found you had to increase your extrusion multiplier, that could be because your fi...

Re: Profile Management Questions

I also find "version control" to be very difficult. For example, I have a profile for eSun PLA+, but I just changed to a new spool of a different color, and I'm having to re-tweak things. I'm also learning as I go, and am frequently adjusting various parameters to suit a given model. Even if I creat...

Re: bridging not triggering

Version 4 (not sure about earlier ones) allows you to use either normal perimeter settings or bridging settings for the perimeter of a bridged region. I'm not sure which you are using, but you might try the other to see if it helps.

Re: Bridging with Suppots has Voids

I kicked the overlap up to 50% so it would be easy to see, and it DOES look like it applies to the bridging layers in preview. I backed off to 30%, and I'm running a test now to see if it helps the voids, and/or messes anything else up. Update 1: Well, the result was pretty much indistinguishable fr...

Re: Bridging with Suppots has Voids

I can try it, but "outline overlap" is an "infill" parameter. S3D has identified this layer as "bridging". I'm not convinced it applies the "infill" settings to "bridging" layers. Cranking it up that high may also have negative effects elsewhere. I can fix that with different layer processes, but th...

Re: Bridging with Suppots has Voids

I've got outline overlap set to 15%, but that is an infill setting. It works fine when printing infill, but the first layer over supports is considered "bridging", and there isn't an equivalent parameter to adjust that for bridging layers. It's a bit hard to zoom in on just the right spot, but I can...

Bridging with Suppots has Voids

I've looked through the trouble-shooting guide, and I've made a lot of progress, but I'm hoping folks can help me fine tune my bridging/support settings. I'm using eSun PLA+ on a MakerGear M2E printer. Here's what I'm currently using for support & bridging settings: Support & Bridging Settings.jpg T...

Re: Houston, We Have a Problem...

Well, attempt #2 was interesting. It got up to a couple cm, and everything was fine. However, because of the way it is sliced (and because I have ""avoid crossing outlines" turned on), it occasionally moves along the perimeter at a high speed to get to the next place it wants to start. I noticed a c...

Houston, We Have a Problem...

I've had a MakerGear M2E for about 2 months, and have been printing away without any major fails. I decided to try to make a vacuum nozzle that would allow me to suck a good bit of the air out of a large zip-lock bag for filament storage. I've tried commercial "space bags", but they are all way too ...

Re: Automatic Supports Offset From Structure?

Thanks everyone. I went back to print my next iteration, and lo and behold, there was the grid setting! The default is 4 mm. I tried several options, and I got good results at 3 mm, so I ran with that. The results were MUCH better. I had a bit more of a battle removing the supports, but it wasn't to...
