Re: Extrusion width with 2.5mm nozzle

Wow! Some impressive statistics in this thread..... Filament feeding through a 2.5mm diameter nozzle at 1000 mm/sec....that's a 1 Kg reel of plastic in less than three minutes!!!          I have this mental picture of MEGGAZITS! ;) ;) ;) ...

Re: Extrusion width with 2.5mm nozzle

.25mm nozzle needs to print slow. I'd start around 1000 mm/m. Otherwise excessive pressure in the extruder can cause feed issues.

Re: Extrusion width with 2.5mm nozzle

It's not that critical. I will adjust the extrusion width to optimize the built quality, looking at how perimeters stack up near internal features and such. lately I've been matching the extrusion width to the nozzle width unless I have reasons to adjust it.

Re: Supports break free and wreak havoc

how 'bout you post some helpful information about what you're doing. A copy of the factory file would be useful. Any photos you have. What material are you running? Are you using any Support Base Layers? I use 2 to lay down a good base for the support to build on. What are your Support Infill Angles...

Re: bug report: multiple stl files, when deselected still prints

You can remove models from the print process, and they won't be printed. Not quite as intuitive/interactive as you'd like, but the functionality is there.

Re: How to print smooth top layers - ???

Understanding what you mean by "smooth" would be helpful. There are limits with this process, but I get results that I consider quite good.
Can you post some photos of what you are getting so we can get a better understanding if the issues you are having?

Re: Suggestion for PVA settings features

I've never worked with PVA, but on the temperature issue, this thread might be helpful.

Re: Is this over extrusion and if so how do I fix?

I haven't found this to be a big deal. I typically run at 50% on solid infill and outer perimeters. Speed might not be big factor. Haven't done a study on that. I just run a new calibration when I'm changing setup.

Re: Max height clearance, sequential printing

As far as multiple processes on sequential parts, I've been messing around with that some lately doing vase-mode test parts at different temperatures. I put 4 parts on the plate and print each one at a different nozzle temp. If you want to change processes mid-part, I don't think that should be an i...

Re: Is this over extrusion and if so how do I fix?

isn't extrusion width set by the nozzle diameter? It can be set automatically with nozzle diameter, or you can adjust it manually. Either way the process is the same. Edit: also, I only work with one material, do I need to re-do the extrusion multiplier for each spool? You would want to repeat if y...
