Re: DLP 3D Printer support

My advice is to not order a printer that the website selling it only has computer graphics showing the product.

Re: Separate out filament from printer and other settings.

In about 3 seconds I could create a "high quality" option that uses 0.1mm layers and prints at a slower speed But this new setting would only work for one roll of filament, because the diameter and extrusion multiplier is different for each roll. So that is forcing me to use a Sharpie and...

Re: Separate out filament from printer and other settings.

Yeah, I know you can do that. But what you are saying is that instead of just an "ABS," "PLA," "PETG," and "Nylon" button, I need a button for every brand and color of PLA, ABS, PETG, and Nylon that I have if I want the extrusion multiplier to be different for...

[ADDED] Separate out filament from other settings

I used Slic3r before Simplify, and it has one majorly nice thing that I am missing a lot. Notice how in slic3r you can have a filament name, and then have diameter, extrusion multiplier, and print temp. Great. As it should be. Then you can have print settings - such as layer thickness, type of infil...

Re: Version 2.1.0 is out...

Support is already is adjustable by the overhang angle that defaults to 45 degrees. Beyond that, the software should ensure that any area that is under that angle has support under it - as other slicers do for a good reason. Even if they keep the inflation setting, they should also do the real fix, ...

Would like support to always be over a certain size.

Ever get really tall but thin/tiny supports that break?

How about a way to have supports have a minimum thickness based on their length?

So a 1x1mm support would be fine for 5mm tall, but if it were 100mm tall, then maybe it needs to be 4x4mm.

Re: Version 2.1.0 is out...

I did some tests. First I confirmed that they didn't really fix the support placement. It is as before. But the inflation does work fine as a kludge to deal with it. Support at 2mm with 0.5mm inflation covers the object. If you don't have a fast machine and want to speed up slicing, then 3 or 4mm wi...

Re: Zits.

My seam is very hard to see on this part.

However, on some parts I have had a significant seam. Though it doesn't really bother me since it looks deliberate rather than random.

Re: Automatic support generation isn't wide enough

2.1.0 allows you to expand the support, which is close enough to a fix of this - though they could have just made it automatic.
