Connection Issue

I have bought a new 3D printer - CreatBot DX.

When I try to connect via USB using S3D it fails - screenshot of the control panel shown in attachment. I have checked the COM port and baud rate.

I have obviously forgotten something. Any clues would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Installation Update

Windows installation. When you install an updated version of S3D it retains the same name in the de-install list as previous versions (just 'Simplify3D'). So when you decide to remove the unwanted version there is no indication of the version number in the de-install program list - and that means yo...

Re: User Account

I found the serial number in the early hours this morning in an old backup, so problem resolved.

Over a period of time I have used different email addresses, so trying to provide both user name and email address would be problematical.

User Account

I have forgotten the password and email address I used to license S3D, so as a result I can't do a password reset on the S3D web site. It insists in requesting both the user name AND email address before issuing a password reset email. So I can't now re-install my licensed copy of S3D until the folk...

Saving Profile

If you update a profile and save (not update) giving it a name, if that profile already exists then the request is bounced with a popup advising that the profile exists. In order to replace that existing profile you have to delete it first. It would be much better if the software asked if you want t...

Hiring Options

Not wishing to insult anyone (and I am definitely not looking for a job!), I noticed a vacancy on the S3D job board for a software devloper. Amongst the prerequisites are "must have Bachelors Degree". Two thoughts with regard to this. In my long career I've worked alongside some 'University of Life'...

Dual Extruder Wizard Defaults

The initial selections for the Dual Extruder Wizard aren''t sticky, so PLA (first in the list) gets chosen by default every time.

I believe it would be good if this dialog remembered the last selected options.

Add Printer Status To Preview Screen

I wonder if it might be feasible for the Preview screen to show the current communication status of the printer? At present having set up the print I switch to the Preview screen and typically click the 'Begin Printing Over USB' button. Whilst this works, occasionally I find that S3D has lost contac...

Re: Screen Resolution

I agree, however that isn't a good reason for not defining what resolution is supported in the technical details of the product. Part of the test procedure carried out before any release is made should be to confirm that it does work at that minimum resolution, so by not defining what that resolutio...

Screen Resolution

I have an Asus Aspire One laptop connected to my 3D printer. It has a maximum screen resolution of 1024x600. Unfortunately some of the S3D screens requirer a higher resolution - this ends up with me presenting screens where the main control buttons are below the bottom of the visible window where I ...
