Re: [Feature Request] Honeycomb infill

That's what I thought. If it doesn't increase strength then the justification for honeycomb infill would come down to cosmetic reasoning. Sure, the honeycomb looks nice and its "busyness" might suggest extra strength, but in reality it might actually detract from its stated purpose. I'm happy to be ...

Re: [Feature Request] Honeycomb infill

HoneyComb infill. It is slower to print but helps to strengthen the part. Is there any scientific evidence that this does strengthen the part? I would have thought that maximum strength came from a lattice of straight lines which alternate 90 degrees from each other. With honeycomb the lines contin...

Re: Feature Request: Eject Media

Maybe I'm a fuddy duddy but I just save the .gcode file to the hard drive in a nice organized folder structure and then copy the related x3g file to the SD card outside S3d. No issues ejecting after the copy and the gcode/x3g creation process is a hell of a lot faster than trying to do it on the SD...

Re: Feature Request: Eject Media

I was using USB only until very recently But one day a print choked whilst using USB, since when I can't reliably use USB. Using SD card is okay, but from a user perspective is a little inconvenient with respect to ejecting the SD card once I have performed the save. It would be so nice if there was...

Feature Request: Eject Media

Possibly for Windows only. It would be nice if S3D provided an option to eject media. We are supposed to print via SD card, and you can save the gcode (and X3G) file to an SD card - but ejecting the card requires a separate external process. If forgotten then it can scramble the output file. Having ...

BuildTak Profile

I have been experimenting with Simplify3D profiles for use with BuildTak, and have attached a profile which works perfectly with my Replicator 2X. This may be of interest to others who want to try BuildTak as a possible means of getting prints to stick to the build plate, but which can be easily rem...

Re: feature request delete individual parts from an stl asse

I know the folks at TinkerCAD have done a lot of work in the recent past with server components. It may be that if your experience isn't very recent then the situation may have improved.

However I haven't tried to do anything complex with imported STL files, so you may be correct.

Re: Feature Request: Snapshot Window

In case this request might be too complex - could S3D at least show the name of the FFF profile currently being used? So many times I have aborted a print whilst it is heating up to go and check that I've got the right FFF profile selected, and if that name was shown on the printing screen that woul...

Re: feature request delete individual parts from an stl asse

You can do this very easily with TinkerCAD. Just load the STL file using the import options on the top right, then put a 'hole' shape over the bit you don't want to print. This can be useful if you wanted to create a flat surface (or mounting holes) which you want to mount extra design onto the STL ...
