Re: 0.8 nozzle, end of outer shell problem

You layer height is probably a bit much. I run .8mm nozzles on both a Fusion3 F400 and a Craftbot plus. I use .4mm layers. I did try 5 and 6 when I was first testing them out. They were not as good nor as strong as the .4mm height. What is the parts supposed to look like? Hard to tell from the image...

Force skirt or brim inside?

Say that I am printing a large circular collar. It is as large as the full print size. Open in the middle. There appears to be no way to force the skirt inside. Same thing if I wanted to fill the bed with smaller collars, but there isn't enough room for a skirt bead on the outside. Plenty of room in...

Re: Nozzle Swap

Okay. maybe not every single setting. :) But at least the major ones. The nozzle size of course. Then the extrusion multiplier most likely and the width. Retraction almost certainly as well as retraction speed. Layer height temperature possibly. Cooling possibly. Print speed too. Bridging. Those are...

Re: Weistek printer compatibility

I would think it is compatible with any printer that uses Gcode.

Re: Vertical honeycomb infill?

In Fusion 360, I would probably model a single one and then create a pattern. Then trim to fit inside the boundary after it is placed.

Re: Printing with support

I like to use at least 3 dense layers with one layer separation. I am using a .8 mm nozzle, so you may need two layers for a .4 mm. Cool both the dense infill layers and at least the first two layers after it at 100%. Slow it down too. This is also where calibrating the bridging on your machine will...

Re: Nozzle Swap

You will need to do a complete recalibration using the larger nozzle. Almost all of the settings will be different.

Re: Z Artifacts

I don't think that you will be able to eliminate the start points. This was actually a pretty big concern for our production parts. You can fine tune it so that the start points don't ooze, but you will still be able to see them I think. Our parts are done in clear Pet G. Everything is visible in tho...

Re: Z Artifacts

Yeah, it is much better to start out with the hardware set to be as accurate as possible. Then you can use S3D to fine tune the output. I am producing production parts on a $5k machine and it still is not perfect. I settle for good to great output. :) It is difficult to nail down every single aspect...

Re: How much clearer can I make it?

Thanks. That is interesting. About 5 or 6 years ago when I built and hot rodded my first printer (Mendell Prusa), I did so with the intention of seeing if I could get it to print polycarbonate. While there was no actual filament available back then, I did use some thin PC rods to print with. I got t...
