The Creality CR-10 Max has a built-in PLA profile that provides you a great place to start. For PETG, try starting with the PLA profile and increase the temperature of the hotend to the filament manufacturer's recommendation. You can also check out our PETG Materials Guide Article.
You will need to take a look at the starting script and find the G1 commands. There should be at least 3 G1 commands, one that specifies the z-height (G1 Z# F#), one that determines the purge line position (G1 X# Y# F#), and the final line that performs the purge (G1 X# E# F# or G1 Y# E# F#).
Yes, you can turn on retraction vertical lift in the Extruder tab. This will lift the nozzle after retractions which includes the retraction at the end of a model.
